I never buy early releases & release day has become patch day for 99% of releases, so I'll wait.

How come I only see this at Steam & GoG and not Amazon? ???

Probably because they are a Tiny studio with limited marketing funds.

I don't know what's wrong with me..actually considering picking this game up....usually not into the fantasy stuff...but this has my attention .

More I watch the videos the more it looks good....now I will start the big debate....where did you all pick up from, Steam or GOG?  Leaning towards Steam myself since I am guessing it will usually get the updates of content/DLC faster....thoughts?

There are advantages to both, but I'm going GOG when I dive in. 

1) I don't have to log into a client. 

This also helps when I want to download something big in Steam - I can still play this game on one of my other computers while it does so.  One problem I have with it is not being able to d/l on one computer and play on another.

2) Hopefully don't get the 'Buggy-Patch-Every-Two-Days' syndrome, as Steam has encouraged with developers.  Also keeps them from screwing up my current campaign/mods if I want to continue.

3)  I just like GOG better overall.  While I've not had to deal with their CS yet, it can't be anywhere as dismal as Steam's.  I really appreciate their DRM-free stance too.


I think that if it gets Steam Workshop support, there could be an argument for getting it there but I'm not sure if that's the case.

Good points....my biggest concern is how they will keep up with patches and DLC.....whether they will be released at the same time or well after the Steam version.  I am an impatient person:) Plus if any mods come out, would they be able to use the steam workshop which also makes that process a bunch easier....what to do:)

Also curious what version people are going with....deluxe or standard...seems for the extra $5 you get an extra scenario and the soundtrack(care less about this).

That part don't bother me much, many of my other games are already on Steam...unless of course they continue to have random login issues like they have encountered over the last couple of weeks:)

^I have really slow dsl. I mean, there are women faster than my download speed. Contestants at a pie eating contest would die -- happy mind you -- but die if they held one simultaneous with one of my downloads. Gwyneth Paltrow Consciously Couples and Uncouples faster than my download can say Pretentious Bitch. The ACA will actually close enrollment before I finish downloading Rome II. Noah, Noah II: Electric Boogaloo, and Noah III: We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat will we produced, screened worldwide, and released to video sooner than I can download an ARMA scenario.  Prince George will be gazing fondly at girls with big brown eyes instead of puppies by the time Skyrim's Even More Naked Stuff VXIVVIII mod downloads. . .
