How is Omerta tgb?

It's OK.  The biggest issue, which has been raised just about everywhere, is there is no A.I. opposition other than scripted events in the campaign. So what you have is a ridiculously easy strategic layer where the only hinderance to progress is cash flow (I literally fell asleep during one mission where I had to acquire $5000 in clean money, and once I had my businesses set up it was just a matter of watching the screen) coupled with good, if flawed, turn-based combat.

I would wait for a sale and pick it up for $20 or less, if I were you.

Apparently Rome II won't be out until around October, but the hilarious hype for it is driving me to play Shogun2 in happy anticipation of
Rome II (which should be an amazing game).

Meanwhile, I'm playing a lot of older games on my eventually-to-be-replaced machine (yes, new computer for Rome II and Arma 3 and whatever else is coming at the end of 2013) -- for example IL2 4.11.1m.

CMBN and CMFI where I manage to get my ass handed to me on both sides of the continent. And some Skyrim to go out and kill-the-hell out of something after the above frustrations. Too bad Skyrim doesn't have German-looking, easy to kill enemies. Maybe Draugers with German helmets.

Its a quad core Pentium i5, 3.0 mhz with 8gb RAM and Win7 64bit. The CPU is a AMD Radion HD 6670, although I'm not that keen on AMD and may change it for an nVidia when, and if ever, I have the cash.

I have the setting in FSX quite high, and the FPS suffers at times. To be honest, I'm not all that happy with FSX (its the Deluxe accelerator version) and I may go back to FS9 at some point, as I really think its a better version. However, if I did have the money, I'd be seriously considering X-Plane 10.

Tuna, I joined in for the Arma2 session last Saturday.  The SimHQ version of the ACE mod was easy to install and was (so far) been easy to learn.  The missions were a lot of fun and less buggy than the IF ones as they've been playing Arma2 a lot longer and got most of the issues ironed out. 

Here's a video from Tigerwulf's POV on a mission we did where we had one understrength infantry platoon with two UH-60s in support.  We were supposed to go and clear a couple of compounds of evil insurgent types.  Looks like Tigerwulf didn't get to do too much.  i was the machinegunner and was having a much more active time of it.

Well, to be honest I have dreaded setting my FSX back up... I tinkered with it so long on my other machine that if I farted wrong it could cause issues.  I fixed all the issues with it to get it working fairly smoothly, but it took a lot of time investment... have debated if I want to go through that again.

If I had known what a pain FSX was going to be, I would stuck to FS9. Even finding / reinstalling all my downloaded aircraft seems like a bigger job than it was in FS9. In fact, I only have a fraction of the aircraft installed that I have for FS9. Mind you, I kept all the old stuff on a flash drive - just in case!

OK, some of the scenery stuff is better in FSX, but really not that much better, and at higher altitudes, there is no difference at all. FS9 with the mesh terrain and VFR scenery is probably better all round, and will most likely run better.

All this week I have been unable to tear myself away from Conquest of Elysium 3 and I expect the weekend to be no different.  I'll have a look around though...I still need to play a full game of Zafehouse Diaries (maybe I should do a Grog-themed AAR like someone else around here did) and I may well fire up Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic in celebration of the glorious news we've had this week.

Non-computer gaming, but I also plan to kick my lady's arse at Android: Netrunner again this weekend. 8)
