Normally I'm fairly comfortable sniffing out martial arts materials.

However I have recently come across a book on Amazon that was really intriguing. It is a book on Bujutsu covering early naval sword and stick techniques. Always on the hunt for something obscure and interesting I started to pounce - then hesitated. The books aren't available for new purchase, and everyone who owns a copy and wants to sell it is asking ~ $300 a book!

Next, as I start back to my Amazon browsing, now I start getting served all kinds of books on Ninjitsu. I seriously doubt a book on naval bujutsu is really tied to ninjitsu, but it is possible that folks interested in studying one ran across the other and Amazon is making a link based on current purchasing habits.

All of which is interesting, but secondary to the fact that there is a pre-WWII book on Japanese bujutsu that looks interesting but I don't intend to pay $300 for. Although I'd like to. Any of you guys heard of this book/style? Got any insight?

I'm actually a 12th dan in Kikkoman Ryu Bujutsu. My Sensei was Rex Kwon, who is actually related to the founder of Bujutsu, General of the Sea Coxinga.  The style of sword fighting was developed by Gen. Coxinga during the naval battle of Pescadores Island off the coast of Formosa in 1662.

Let me know if you have any questions about finding a good sensei.  I hear the Bujutsu capital of the world these days is Chicago, IL, so your recent move is strikingly good fortune!

Pish-posh! If a comely young thing were to signal an exchange of her continued favors for some finger jewelry then you'd be at Jarrod's even as we speak. The cheese doesn't always stand alone by choice.
