Well, February started weak, but I finished tolerably strong; to the previous list I can now add Stranglehold, Midway's semi-official sequel to John Woo's movie Hard Boiled. Something about the design of the game made me nauseous--I had too much trouble turning to deal with threats on my flank or rear, I guess. While I have plenty of other shooters on my to-finish list (including Gearbox's Brothers In Arms series), I'm probably going to work on something quieter for a while. (Thus probably not The Witcher again either. Maybe Fairy Solitaire... STOP JUDGING MEEEE!!)

I should take a moment here to consolidate my gains. After buying the Witcher duology on a 75% off sale at Steam, which counts as two games by my reckoning, I needed to finish 10 games before I could buy a new one. (I had finished five games, so bought The Witcher, but took the sale opportunity to pick up the improved sequel, too. I should have finished another five games to buy it, and will need to finish another five games to buy something after it. Thus 10 finishes to earn the right to buy a new game.)

Since then I have finished:

XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Spec Ops: The Line
Assassin's Creed (1)
Karateka (the recent remake, not the original)
and now Stranglehold

Wow, I've caught up to buying Witcher 2!

Only five more finishes to new-game permission!

So, who else finished something this week(end)?

I did the opposite of finishing a game.  I didn't even start one!

Seriously, all weekend, and I didn't even play a computer game.  I'm not even sure what I did with this weekend...where did it go?

Glad to see I'm not the only one who had this type of weekend.

I finished the, "moving the house" game.  The next game is, "put all the stuff where it belongs" game.
And the One Song to Rule Them All is Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones

Did you unlock the "Man Cave DLC" upon finishing the move?

Some of the houses here have a basement, most do not.  But the bedroom is big enough to put the bed, the computer desk, a flat screen and, eventually, surround sound.  Oh, and the PS3 with Netflix.  So, me and the old lady won't be leaving unless we have to.

I finished my first campain of Fallen Enchantress over the weekend. I might go another round on easy before ramping it up.

Bison

I didn't play any games this week either.  Crazy.

Gusington

Fall of the Samurai finished me. May play a little Mark of the Ninja or Civ V before trying again. I want a win in this damned game.

Not a single game did I finish (or even exactly start) last week; but mostly because I was prepping for two different Groghead multiplayer games of Dominons 3.

The first of which I then proceeded to bork when the mod we were using for the game wasn't activated on my computer while I was designing my pretender. Rebooting the first turn!  :P

Since I did finish five games after buying my last new game, I decided to assuage myself by buying Sang-Froid (or the open beta rather) last night; I still need to download it this afternoon, though.

Yes, this means I'm going to count The Witcher 1 and 2 as buying one game, because I bought them in a package at 75% off, for possibly less than I spent on SFroid. They're my rules, so there. (But I'll probably just restart the new-game clock at 10 games to finish again.)

While I'm sure I've played at least 25 hours of Dom2/3 over the years, I'll probably also count a "finish" if I can get one of my two multplayer games done, win or lose, since I've never actually played a whole game of Dom to the end.

So, did anyone manage to actually finish a game this week/end?

I finished Torchlight 2!   I just haven't been able to get in the mood for anything deep, so TL2 fit the bill over the last 2 weeks or so.  I can't play more than an hour or so at a time with it, though.

Wait, it hasn't stopped being Monday yet? I made it on time! YAAYYYY!!!

...

........

Um......

I didn't finish a game this week.  :-\

I'm not too far from finishing Sang-Froid, but that'll be this week not last week. I guess hope.

Anyone else do better than me, and actually finish a game this week(end)?

Silent Disapproval Robot

Working my way through my backlog of games.

I finished:

  • Bioshock 2
  • The Witcher 2 (I had tonnes of lose story threads left to resolve yet the game just up and ended on me.  I guess you can only do one of the main quests when given a choice of 3.)

  • Rage
