I wasn't retaining my crew, I was just selling them along with the old tank.  And also, once they were 100% I wasn't doing anything else with them.  :\

BTW, the T-34-85 is tough with the matchmaker.  The thin hull armor and crappy gun depression make for a really tricky ride.

ouch @ selling your crews.  next time your in game take a look at one of them and check out their personal file.  click the skills tab and see whats available for each crew position.  keep in mind that some skills are averaged across the whole crew such as repair, firefighting, camo an brothers in arms.  so when you get those skills get them for everyone.  IMHO repair and BiA are the most important.  camo is really only usful on spg and td.  to be fair it helps no matter what but its a necessity on those 2 types.

Id guess that my JagdTiger crew is shooting about almost a full second quicker then its stats say it shoots due to experience and skill sets.  thats a big difference in game.  the Stug crew thinks its got an autoloader.  8)

So the higher-than-100% stats actually work? In the beta, I thought you needed a 100% crew to get the maximum rate of fire given in the gun description, but couldn't go over it. A bit like how the suspension upgrade (not the one you research, but the thing you can buy) didn't change the maximum speed of your tank even though it relaxed your power to weight ratio. I'm not familiar with the new skills like Brothers in Arms though, no idea what that does.

If you can fire faster than the maximum rate of fire, that would mean those tier 1 and 2 tanks that can fire every 2 seconds would only stop firing to deal with recoil.

you still need the 100% crew for the max listed rate of fire but when you add a rammer + various crew perks you can fire even faster.  the loaders have a skill that increases their speed when your tank is 10% health or less for instance.

I love my 34-85.... treat it like a heavy scout and you'll be good

BTW, sorry to hear about your crew training experiences. Hint: join a clan and get on teamspeak with them... they'll educate you very well in short order

Your percentage for your ferdi the last year has to be close to 90+% isn't it?

nope.  the Ferds at 79%.  the same crew transferd to the Jagdtiger is 81%.
