Medieval Economics

I am looking for some kind of game which provides a satisfactory model of economics at about the European Middle Ages
level of technology.  Some kind of kingdom management thing which would include warfare.  Nothing so far seems to
scratch my itch.  Everything I pick up is too simple or too magicy or on too local of a scale like Stronghold.
I am looking for something with a good military/industrial model.  Europa Universalis is too big and abstract and I feel the need
for something on a smaller level.  Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

You could try Anno 1404. It's like a sim city kind of deal. Not sure if its macro enough. Also, CK2 has a lot...at least once you get 100 years in or so and can start updating castles, towns and such.

Patrician is the only true economic sim for the Middle Ages. I think Crusader Kings offers a nice balance of economy and kingdom building, but it may not be exactly what you want. You could always go for the Settlers series as well, I quite liked the most recent one (and it is now reasonably priced).

There was an older game called Knights of Honor that was pretty good - economy, kingdom building, dynasty building. It is very long in the tooth, however. I wish they would update that.

Besides Patrician 4, there is also The Guild 2: Renaissance.

Not so much sailing & ships in that one .. but you do start off as a merchant in a certain area and compete with other merchants (including assassinations, legal accusations, and other cutthroat stuff).

I've not learned the ins & outs of it enough yet but it looks to qualify.  There are some YouTube vids about The Guild 2 Renaissance if you wanna see what the gameplay is like.  Fortunately, it's only $10 at GG.

Oh, nice.  I didn't know Titled Mill was doing a medieval city builder.  I hope they do as well as they did with Children of the Nile.  That one had good societal & industry systems in it.

Thanks I actually have most of those suggested.  What I am looking for is something like this:

which is an online game I have been playing for more than a year.  Except more bigger. You build an economy and then use it to build an army
for wars of aggression (or defense).  I would like to play something like this on a bigger scale, solitaire.  It is like Empire.

It's a mix between city-builder and war game, but mostly city-builder.

I was going to buy Medieval Lords, but it has StarForce as its DRM and that scared me off. I guess I'll pick it up when GOG.com offers it.
