DCS Mustang or Combined Arms?

With the Mustang are you flying around in WWII or in DCS present world? Is there an offline version where you can fly against AI stangs?

Or would it be better at this moment to get the Combined Arms game, for more content?

I am into really any kind of simulation so I have no preference.

I was just wondering what the consensus here is.

Currently bought Combined Arms and regret it. It's arcade. I expected it not equal to Steel Beasts level but it's really not DCS standards... not even M1 Tank Platoon 2.

I bought the Mustang for 9.99 in the sale.. havent' fired it up yet, but if the cockpit is anything like the A-10 with the Track IR, I'll be happy!

I think the DCS world is mostly modern. But they are working supposedly on an FW 190, to compliment the Stang (someone to dogfight against?).

Seriously, the F4U is just such a mean looking beast. I have a cart-load of 'em for FSX, but just think of how awesome a DCS one would be, given the quality of the stuff they do.

Also, the book about 'Pappy' and VMF-214 is excellent.

Thanks for the detail....just not sure I could wrap my head around flying a mustang against a modern backdrop....too bad, really like that aircraft.
