I entered the activation code from Gamersgate on Steam and it's now pre-loading.  I already got Bioshock and Bioshock 2 when I pre-ordered a few weeks ago but I still haven't received the X-COM code. Gamersgate didn't initially offer XCOM as a pre-order bonus.  It showed up in the ad a few weeks after I pre-ordered.  The ad says they'll still give it to those who already pre-ordered before the XCOM addition. I wonder if I'm not seeing it because I already purchased it from Gamersgate when it was first released?  Oh well, no matter.  I'll fire off an email and if it doesn't show up, I won't be too bothered.

I am going to be mature about this. I am getting deep into modded Civ V, enjoying Mark of the Ninja, and getting ready for a new Fall of the Samurai campaign. Going to hold off on the new Bioshock for lack of time and wait for a future sale...same with XCom.

I'm sitting on the fence with this one.  I never played any of the Bioshock titles because their settings just didn't interest me.  The same for this latest entry.  The whole thing with a religious cult built around the Founding Fathers just rubs me a bit wrong.  I'm not judging the game without playing it - but I can wait to play it.   ;D

The first was a very well told story about the inevitable failure of a society built on Libertarian/Objectivist principles once taken to an extreme

The second was a cash grab based on the success of the first with a fairly good story about the inevitable failure of a society built on collectivist principles once taken to an extreme.

The third sounds as though it's going ot be about the failure of a society built on theocratic/exclusionary principles taken to an extreme.

Jump in the pool, there's something to offend everyone!

It definitely looks like Columbia is a utopian technocratic society with strong religious leanings. I'm guessing they are also imperialists and social Darwinists. There was something that smacked of John Noyes (Oneida Community) or Cyrus Teed (Koreshan Unity). As I'm hugely interested in US Communal Utopianism, I think this one will be smashing! The name Comstock also makes it even better, since the real Anthony Comstock was a verifiable nut who had WAY too much power.

Gamespot.com just posted an 8 min. video review giving the game a 9 outta 10. The little girl looks too cute for me to be responsible for getting her killed which is probably what would happen over and over the way I play FPS's.

I'm still holding off on this one too.  I didn't really care for the first game in the series and I skipped the second.  I hadn't even looked into this one until I saw the thread had grown to 3 pages.

Can't watch it 'til I get home. It does have some incredible numbers on Metacritic, and RPS had some nteresting things to say too...and not all totally favorable.

I am finally catching up on my gaming backl catalogue, so I intend to stand fast here.

I've pre-ordered mine and will pick it up from GameStop tomorrow. (XBOX version)

Played 1, and loved it.  Especially it's take on Ayn Rand Objectivism. 

Own 2 but have not played it yet. 

When I get Infinite it will unfortunately go on hold for a bit due to my current obsession: Gears of War: Judgement
