New - Interesting DLC for Graviteam Operation Star

Do you guys prefer the Achtung Panzer series or the Combat Mission series for these types of WW2 games?

Well, I bought Operation Star regardless since it was only $7.50 on Gamersgate.  It sounds like a really neat game, so I'm sure I'll be pleased.

I still have to buy and download Angola DLC, but I want to try out the base game a bit first.

I picked it up over the weekend after reading a few AARs on another forum.  It's nice to see that they've done a lot of work on the UI as that was the chief reason that I didn't play as much of AP: Kharkov as I would have liked. 

Does anyone know if there's a way to get anti-aliasing working for the game?  If I try to force it via my graphics card settings on desktop, I get a corrupted display wherin I can move the units and the POZV, but the map graphics stay static.  I had the same issue with the original game.

It looks OK now, but I'd look a lot better if I could get AA working and thereby get rid of the evil jaggies.

(The devs really should ask for some help with translations as well.  I had a few moments reading the tutorial scripts where I couldn't even guess what they were trying to convey.)

I can't get AA working for APOS either with my 660Ti, but what I now do is change my monitor's resolution from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 and let the GPU downsample the picture using the setting in the "Adjust Picture and Size Position" screen in the nVidia Display Panel.

APOS looks way better, but with the following consequences:
1) A loss of frame rate from about 50-60 fps down to about 35-45 and even around 20 in heavy dust and smoke
2) The fonts are smaller on my 23" LED.

But the tradeoff is well worth it.

I change my monitor's resolution to 2560x1440 just before I play APOS (and Theatre of War too). I change it back to 1920x1080 when I'm done with the game.

Thanks.  I read the post about down-sampling and found a link for a program that allows you to do it with AMD cards but it sounded a little dodgy.  I guess I can live with jaggy fences.  I just finished farting around with a quick battle with my playing as the Soviets with a rifle company and 3 BA-64 armoured cars doing a recon mission against a German rifle company with an AT section of two guns.  The German mortar team definitely deserves the pickle barrel award as they managed to take out two of my three BA-64s with mortar rounds right into the commander's open top copulas.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do I change which map is being used on the quick mission builder?

Just wanted to say I'm new to this forum and I play this game all the time(over a year) and have every DLC released by Graviteam for Graviteam Tactics Operation Star.

I'm very much looking forward to the next standalone game that Graviteam plans to release soon called Graviteam Tactics:Mius Front 1943.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone here on this forum if interested,it truly is my favorite tactical game.

Go to quick battle settings(12)Battlefield area and click the little dot in the box either left or right of the map name already shown.

You can make all sorts of different changes to the quick battle here-weather,time of day,type of battle ,status of your forces or enemies etc.....
