Personally I think its a test on Slitherenes part. Given strength of the debate in recent days - I would bet its designed to either prove people wrong - by doing what they wanted and then showing them the numbers to show it doesnt work - OR - it will work and then they make some money from old games. Either way it seems win - win. to a certain extent.

Fantastic, I love tests like these where I get to buy the games I have always wanted but could not afford at cheaper prices.

I can know as I was consulted as a developer if I would agree on sales on some of our older products, a thing Slitherine Group always does, prior to any sale... they are real gents.

It works for me at least. FoF has been a long time on my list but it was too expensive to be added to my large list of games...

I'm not even sure if I'd ever get around to playing FOF right now, with my backlog, but it's still very tempting at the sale price. 

The small screen resolution can be overlooked, at this price, as long as the game doesn't interfere with my vid card settings for keeping the exact resolution displayed (with black bars around it).  Most don't, but I've found one or two games that override that setting. 

I suppose FOF also works okay on Win7?

I believe I have had it installed and playing on my Win 7 (64 bit) machine.

If you want concrete proof, I can re-install and try? But I'm pretty sure I tried it only a couple of months ago.

Naaa.. no need to waste your time.  I can always look on the game forum if I feel compelled to buy it.  I probably won't just because it's not something I'd fire up anytime soon.

I really enjoyed FoF... yeah.. graphics aren't exciting... when I first started playing, I was like WTF with tactical battles, then I got addicted! Kind of like Civilization meets the Civil War.. but then the Tactical Battles is like icing on the Cake..

lol. I was bringing my laptop to work so that I could play during my lunch hour out in the car!

Funny thing is, I bought Crown of Glory after that, but never got into it..

Second favorite.. AGEOD comes first in my book!  ;D.. But still a great game and so is Scourge..
