is there any reason to get Wargame: European Escalation?

Starcraft combat occurs too slowly for your taste.

oh I hate that game.  I used to be great at HW because the GUI and camera controls are the best Ive ever seen.
Im not so much worried about the pacing but whether I need to get the W:EE part of the game.

No, you can skip W:EE and just get W:ALB

This game is a lot of fun, been playing it the past few days.  Just doing single player so far, the campaigns were more fun than I thought.  They force you to play with decks you would never likely choose.

I will be delving into MP soon.

No.

I believe that if you double-click one of your units, the camera will follow it.  That or click on it's unit name in the HUD, after selecting it (maybe?).

I accidentally do that on occasion - usually for aircraft since I don't realize that one is selected before clicking on it's symbol in the air box a second time.

One thing I realized in the campaigns is that infantry centric decks can pack a punch.  You can spam a region with normal infantry hidden in buildings and woods. They are able to defend even against armor with their basic At weapons while you use air assets or arty take out the enemy.

I think it is also due to the points based destruction objective.  As for territory based objectives, an infantry deck may be too slow unless they are Air Mobile.  Another fun deck to play with.
