Rome 2 TW Pre-purchase

Pre-purchase price is just too much money for me to gamble on.

What if the game sucks?

If it doesn't, great...I'll catch up with the reviewers who got it for free.

I don't feel the need to be on the bleeding edge of the gladius with this one.

But that kind of sums up my opinion of pre-purchases in general....and Kickstarter, while I'm sticking a fork into things...

A lot of the pre-purchase deals above seem to be for the UK...is everything above also good for the US?

I bought it from Greenmangaming for $45 and from the US.

Just pre-ordered from Green Man. 45.00 sounded more reasonable to me. Plus Sparta is a faction. Come on now. ME WANT!

Yeah they keep it kind of hidden. Use the code and you will get 25% off, then get an email telling you that you'll get the proper Steam code on the day of the release.

That sums up my own feelings as well.

I've enjoyed the time I've thus far spent with Shogun 2, but I still remember how badly burned I felt by Empire and (especially) Rome. One good game does not automatically make me forget how the devs screwed up prior releases. I'm cautiously looking forward to Rome 2, but given CA's history I simply cannot bring myself to pre-order.
