I liked the hero Nova, and somehow the idea of John C. Reilly playing him has some 'you know, that just might work' appeal. Even with his middle aged beer gut.

He didn't screw up the pre-Deadpool Wade Wilson in Origins: Wolverine; even the writers couldn't screw that up much.

And not his fault about what happened later in that film.

He's a big DP fan, and did a reasonable job in the 'test' trailer. It could work.

No, the problem here is that it's Ryan Reynolds.  To be fair, if he's going to nail any role spot on, it should be this one.

As soon as they left Henry & Janet out of the first movie, you knew it was coming.  The Wasp might've been the longest-running / most prominent Marvel character to not get her own book.  And yet, there's 2-1/2 decades of her all over The Avengers.

Avengers lore is almost on par with Tolkien for me and the travesty that Marvel/Disney is foisting upon us is good/bad just like LotR movies.  Glad they made them/don't understand why they couldn't be made the way they were originally written.

Hmm, I didn't even guess the Chitauri involvement, although I guess I should have. They even look physically similar.

But the origin is even more different than what I thought they were going for, i.e. the 'original' Jarvis-goes-evil-and-builds-Ultron-as-his-minion plot which was soon retconned to Ultron having brainwashed Jarvis (and then needing a new origin so he became Pym's creation but blacked out his memory of it for a while.)

Incidentally, I notice that Howard Stark's butler "Alfred Jarvis" (yes, Alfred) will be in the upcoming Agent Carter series. Played by Bellame, of course. Wouldn't be surprised if they don't tie this into the Vision more closely, since in some continuities the Vision was a remade WW2 Human Torch robot -- and not only have the promos been teasing some secret Starkian weapon, but the Torch was already shown at the Stark Expo in Cap1 (as Steve and Bucky are heading over to check out Stark's attempt at a flying car).
