I'm going to try Chivalry for a bit.  Which sucks because WotR is a better game IMO.

Hopefully I get some time in with my Distant Worlds game as well as some more Wargame and CK2. I still need to spend some time with Carriers at War which I finally picked up in the sale the other week, and some more time with Panzer Command: Ostfront.

What do you mean by they killed it?  What went wrong?

But what I think happened is that they killed WotR by:  1) coins/XP to earn things or the ability to buy better things (weapons/armor) and 2) using XP/coins to allow you to buy "perks" that OP your character.

I contrast WotR with Rising Storm and Red Orchestra.  Now then, I haven't advanced enough in RS/RO to know if getting a lot more experience makes a big difference, but it seems that you have access to the same weapons and skills no matter your level.  So playing longer doesn't confer an advantage.  This keeps the playing field level and keeps the gameplay predictable.

WotR has gone to this whole perks/coins/equipment thing where you play more to earn coins and XP that unlock better weapons/armor/perks.  This in and of itself wouldn't be a big deal but some of the perks are OP.  For example, some of the archer perks allow you to buy armor piercing arrows, draw your bow faster, and zoom your view really far in.  This has the effect of making super-lethal archers.  There are certainly other perks and weapon/armor combos.  These guys have been focusing so much on this aspect that the gameplay is suffering.  And it's suffering to the point where there are 5 populated servers, none to capacity, and only one with something like 25 guys on.  I contrast this with Chivalry with multiple 64/64 servers and Rising Storm that is similarly fully populated.

I like the idea of earning coin to customize my guy to look different in WotR, but allowing people to buff from playing just doesn't seem to be a viable long term strategy for online gaming.  I could be wrong, but WotR is a great game that the developers are killing.

Keep playing Call of Juarez : Gunslinger. Not the most inventive game in the world, but it's well made, fun and the narrator is pretty awesome. For $15, it's a steal.

After that, not sure. Maybe I'll pick up Fallen Enchantress or Far Cry 3 : Blood Dragon. Or maybe I'll play something I already have... ;D

I am not sure why I haven't bought Gunslinger yet, but I have played the demo more than a lot of recent full game purchases...really a nice game....will pick up the full version soon.

Keep playing Call of Juarez : Gunslinger. Not the most inventive game in the world, but it's well made, fun and the narrator is pretty awesome. For $15, it's a steal.

After that, not sure. Maybe I'll pick up Fallen Enchantress or Far Cry 3 : Blood Dragon. Or maybe I'll play something I already have... ;D

They do a lot of great stuff with the narrator as the game progresses. You'll play through multiple versions of things based on different people remembering differently. At one point, I died in a duel and as I hit the key to try again, he suddenly came up with "Wait, no! I DIDN'T get hit there. Let's start over..."

Nonsense. Buy on, good sir!  ;D I actually finished the game last night, and I really enjoyed it from start to finish.

And now I've got Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon downloading. The FC3 shooter engine with a game basically set in the world of 80's action movies? Yes, please!
