Witcher 2 on GOG

Got this on GOG cheap just the other day. Can't say as I've ever had an RPG experience quite like this before.  I finished the Prologue and am into the beginning parts of chapter 1....I feel like I'm watching a movie rather than playing a game.  So far it has been one long cut scene after another with a few minutes of gaming in between.  Does this continue the entire game or is it like this just in the beginning as it lays out the storyline?  When it is a game it is quite a lot of fun and the cut scenes are well done except for the fact they are long and frequent.  :-\

There's a good bit of back story being set up in the beginning.  While there are more cut scenes throughout the game, the ratio of cut scene to game definitely swings around in favor of game.

The Witcher is based off of a series of (7?) Polish fantasy novels, only two of which have been translated and released in English.  The games take place after the novels, so there's a good bit of set up to be done to make the story make sense.  Also, the developers like to show off how well they've captured the world of the Witcher in their game.

Some of the developers, working outside of work, have just released a mod that changes in-game combat to make it better balanced and more fluid.  Keep that in mind if you get frustrated later on; sometimes Geralt seems to nod off and is really slow to respond when someone is trying to shove a sword through him.  The patch apparently fixes that.

Thanks, good to hear because the gameplay is enjoyable.  Witcher 1 was one of small handful of RPG's I ever finished to the very end.  I am hoping to do the same with 2.
