Rome II's minimum and recommended specs

Keep the good news about Rome 2 coming. I'd name my legions after all the beautiful women I've romanced over the years but then there would be...... almost none. I think FOTS would be a great engine for an ACW mod with the weapons and tech and the way after Realm Divide the whole country is neatly divided in half politically. Maybe a Franco-Prussian mod would work too. Hell I'll play anything TW.

Each Legion can be:
(i) Renamed to what you like
(ii) Gain traditions in things like siege craft
(iii) If the legion gets slaughtered you can re-raise it with green troops and keep the traditions and experience that the banner offers. The troops will still be green. But they get the over all traits of the original legion.
(iv) change the symbol

I hope they have a similar system for the non-Roman factions.

I am also happy that CA have returned to an era and area with many different factions. I love Shogun but even for me the game can get a bit samey after extended play.

Rome 2 currently has significantly less factions then Rome 1 does. From reading the current faction list, the only two factions in the east are Egypt and Parthia. Not to put off by it right now since more factions will probably be added as DLC. I just hope those factions will at least be on the map if you don't own the DLC.

Damn...I did not know any of that. I wonder if they are introducing those features to include them in in the upcoming Warhammer game...it's always hard to tell. With the inclusion of trains and the telegraph in Fall of the Samurai I was sure the next game was to be Victoria Total War...time will tell.

I seem t recall that we did talk about an ACW TW game, but decided that it would be too limited since there are not enough factions. However, a Viccy Era one (more-or-less) offers considerably more scope.

An ideal for me would be one that ran from the Crimea up to the Russo-Jap war. There are some interesting conflicts in that period that cover a lot of the world.

Furthermore, it could include stuff such as the 7 weeks war and the Franco-Prussian war, plus the Boxer Rebellion and go from almost Napoleonic tactics to WW1.

CA has stated they want the game to be as accessible as possible for as many players as possible. Besides the massive footprint it looks like they may have done it. The best news is that it is only two months away! With the kind of scope R2TW looks like it has, I may be playing it for a year straight.

This is all separate from the commanders traits.

It's an awesome-sounding feature, but it would be great to see the other factions receive a little love too.

Glad I'm not the only one. I've been burnt by TW games horrible AI too many times for me to just dive in again. But the more I read the more and more I can feel my resolve crumbling.

No. No. I respect people who stand-up for their principals. Even though I have none. Other than to encourage others to stand-up for theirs. I am principally principless. But I respect others who do and torture themselves over them. I admire you all but would probably pre-order an empty box if it had the TW logo on it. ;D
