With AGEOD ACW2 due out later this year I'm a little hesitant at getting ACW1 right now. But for that price its awfully tempting though.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall

That's what I'm thinking.  I just picked up and started learning Rise of Prussia Gold so I have plenty to keep me busy until ACW2 comes out.

That's what I'm thinking.  I just picked up and started learning Rise of Prussia Gold so I have plenty to keep me busy until ACW2 comes out.

Same here.  ROP Gold is pretty good and probably good training for ACW2.

It is a shame they didn't put the price lower on Grigsby's game. It didn't seem get as much love as it should have when it was released and a lower price probably would have tempted people to give it a chance now. I still don't know why they released both it and Forge of Freedom at basically the same time. Ageod Civil War might have been released around then as well.

I never got into Grisby's game.. probably paid the most for it, out of the three...

FoF and AGEOD got a lot more playing time for me.. I really love AGEOD, can't wait for ACW2!

I can't decide of I should get AGEOD now while it is on sale or just wait for ACW2 and learn that.  Thoughts?

  I have to take any excuse not to buy a game.  Replaced soon by an improved version is such a perfect excuse!  And a good reason to buy Rise of Prussia Gold since it has at least some of the improved mechanics.

Do you have any other games with this Engine? If not, then this a cheap way to see if you 'like' the Engine.. Some people can't get into it.. I think the two big learning curves with the original was composing Armies and planning/maintaining supply lines.

Do you have any other games with this Engine? If not, then this a cheap way to see if you 'like' the Engine.. Some people can't get into it.. I think the two big learning curves with the original was composing Armies and planning/maintaining supply lines.

Never played anything with this engine before.  Still I don't I don't know if I want to learn a game that will be replaced with a "newer" version soon.

  Rise of Prussia Gold is currently the game that is closest to what ACW2 will be like in terms of the engine.  And Rise of Prussia gold isn't going to be replaced by a newer version.  And its 19 dollars from Matrix.

Is it really the new ACW2 Engine? The map looks older like ACW 1.. as opposed to Napoleon and AJE, where the map looks a lot 'newer'?
