Seems like a match made in heaven to me!

'World of Tanks' x 'Girls und Panzer' dream collaboration announced

QuoteIn Tokyo earlier yesterday at their establishment party, Wargaming Japan announced that one of its free-to-play titles, World of Tanks, will officially launch on September 5th within the country.

World of Tanks is an award-winning game that even holds a world record for having the most players online on one MMO server. With nearly two-hundred and fifty armored truck and tank models to choose from – each historically based off of the models of different countries – you can build your army and face off against other players. Whoever thinks that you have to pay for anything decent clearly hasn't played World of Tanks.

Among the packed party, the crowd included representatives from Belarus and Wargaming representative director Kawashima Yasuhiro. But perhaps the greatest news came from Bandai Visual's Kiyoshi Sugiyama, who revealed a dream collaboration between World of Tanks with the extremely popular anime Girls und Panzer.

While no concrete details concerning the collaboration was revealed, we can rest assured that no matter what Wargaming comes up with, it will be amazing.

I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I have watched the first three episodes of Girls und Panzer and I am actually enjoying it!  :-[  It's hard getting past the whole school girl thing that Japanese anime seems obsessed with, but once you do it is actually quite entertaining.  The tank action is pretty darn good for a cartoon!  And I will even admit to the show making me chuckle a few times (I like that girl who can't get up in the morning for the matches...reminds me of myself!  ;D)

Even more interesting is how I am enjoying World of Tanks lately.   :)  I never cared for it when it came out because it was too game-y for me.  But now that I realized it is really not meant to be anything more than a re-imagining of Atari's Tank game, but with modern graphics, I am enjoying it much more!   :D  And, yes, Girls und Panzer is feeding the addiction. :)  Not surprisingly, I heard about the anime from the WoT community:

LOL!

I have to admit I would love to see a live action, adult co-ed, version of this made into a movie.

if you havnt bought camo for your tanks there are tons of anime skins you can download.  a lot are from this cartoon.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

Really?  LOL!  Makes sense.  I haven't looked into camo yet but I might have to check it out.   :D

Id recommend getting the camo now that it actually has some very real effects on view range and hiding.
if youre playing TD its fairly important especially below tier 7.  a Stug with camo paint, camo net and all the crew with full camo skill is harder to spot then the invisible man.

Good to know!  I am just at Tier 3, so I am a noob that needs to learn a lot yet.  As a matter of fact I was curious if camo had a real effect or if it was just for show.  Now I know!  Thanks!

and never sell your crews!  always transfer them and keep their experience.

Oops!  I've been dismissing them right along.   And here I thought I was doing the right thing by cutting their walking papers so they can return home and get off the battlefield.   ;D  Looks like my current crews won't be so lucky anymore....

I suspect this news will not come as a shock to many.  Ever since I first saw an episode of Girls Und Panzer last year at a friend's house, I figured it was only a matter of time before the show somehow got involved with WoT.  8)

A vid has been released about the new changes coming in the 8.8 version of WoT:

At last, new voices!  The standard voice they use now is just so grating, especially on non-American vehicles.  And I also like the new service record features.  The other day I was poking around in it and saw how limited it was in functionality.

Can't believe I got hooked on this game.... ::)

I'm hoping WOT doesn't get inundated with a bunch of anime junk.   ???

That would certainly keep me away from ever playing it.  Forever.

havent even thought about it since getting AirLand.

As arty I regularily lob shells on the hunting lairs of low tier TDs, it pays off, but the payoff falls as the TDs go up in tiier and their armour gets better relative to blast area and damage from an arty shell
My doctor wrote me a prescription for daily sex.

My wife insists that it says dyslexia but what does she know.

GDS_Starfury

good luck with that when your in a match with me.  all camo'ed up I can sit in the middle of a field at range and be invisible.

pew pew pew pew!!!

well, with the Stug I can.  the Ferd/Jagd not so much but, thats what you get for driving a warehouse.
