^Go big or go home I guess.

Shouldn't there be a Titanicus and maybe a few Space Marines around that Ratte to enhance the immersion?

this is us.  never has an image so perfectly captured a forum.

our founders.

Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

Lemme guess- it's unofficial name is 'Esperit D'Maginot'.

GH? You mean JH?

Also, SoM may not be a Warpig but I'm sure he could play one on TV if he puts on a lab coat.

I really don't know why I am still following this story.   :D  I guess I get a kick out of seeing a popular game crossover into pop culture.

Anyhoo....

Girls & Panzer Meets World of Tanks Game in Video

QuoteA promotional video for the collaboration between the World of Tanks video game and the Girls und Panzer anime was unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2013 event on Sunday. The online game began service in Japan on September 5.

Seems more like a fan vid!  LOL!  ;D
"As I understand from your communication, Mr. Engle, you're on the brink of self-destruction. May I shake your hand? A brilliant idea! I speak as one who has destroyed himself a score of times.  I am, Mr. Engle, a veteran corpse. We are all corpses here! This rendezvous is one of the musical graveyards of the town. Caters to zombies hopping around with dead hearts and price tags for souls." - Angels Over Broadway

We also announced the new tech tree for Japanese tanks at the Tokyo Game Show. Coincidence?  ;D

Hey Chris.....  one wish.... smoke!!!!

An HE shell is a shell, but a real round is a smoke!

Hey Chris.....  one wish.... smoke!!!!

You're not the only one! There are several reasons it's not already in the game, including:

  • Graphics cards capabilities - players may run the game on a computer that would lag horribly with smoke. As the baseline computer improves, we may be able to drop support for cards that don't support smoke effects.
  • Server-side processing - all smoke would have to be calculated on the server side, to prevent cheating and ensure an equal play environment, but the calculation load is already high with existing physics, shooting, and building deformation.
  • Smoke effects - temporary camo? starting fires (WP)? wind effects? We'd like to do it all and do it right, so we're going to hold off until we can agree on what to include and make sure it works.

We have a long, long list of features we'd like to include, and smoke is definitely on there, we just haven't gotten to it yet. ;D

...and what does this have to do with the original post?  :P

like the calculations of the shell that was fired from a Jagdtiger I have 3000 battles in, a crew into the 70% range of their 4th skills who somehow miss at 300 meters?   ::)  those calculations?

Hey, nobody's perfect! ;D

In reality, there are a lot of factors that impact even an experienced crew's ability to damage a target. These are generally divided into three ballistic groups (internal, external, and terminal) and a set of other non-technical factors (crew experience, crew comfort, crew distraction, crew morale, crew fatigue, terrain, weather, lighting, ). I won't bore you with details for all of these (such as the barrel droop, lining/rifling wear, metal quality, etc. for the internal ballistics of tank guns) but suffice it to say that even experienced crews miss a lot more of the time in the field than they do on the firing range. I have seen experienced and well-trained soldiers who shoot perfect 40s on the target range miss dozens of shots in the field under pressure. We use a simple random spread to simulate all of these other factors, which helps to prevent super-elite crews from becoming perfect and dominating the game unfairly. My solution: get closer, have a reload/fallback position, and bring a friend to cover you while you reload. It's a team game!  8)
