It will be interesting to see how politicians and the media handle this case, as opposed to the Zimmerman one.

One of the teens charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Australian baseball player Christopher Lane in Duncan, Okla., previously posted anti-white statements on his Twitter feed.

James Edwards, 15, Chancey Luna, 16, and Michael Jones, 17, have all been charged as adults in Lane's death. Lane, a 22 year-old student from Melbourne, was out for a jog last Friday evening when the three teens began following him in a car and shot him "just for the fun of it," according to Duncan officials.

The town where that happened is a flyspeck on the map.  Seriously.  People from Duncan would drive to Lawton to "go to the city" despite Lawton barely being 100k at the time (including Ft Sill).  We used to have to go to Duncan for XC meets, or the occasional road hoops game (no, I didn't play - but had to send someone to cover it for the school newspaper).  Fortunately, they weren't in our soccer league so we got to avoid having to go East Bugtussle in the Spring.

Thing is, that town's so small there's no way in hell people didn't know what these idiots were up to.  Seriously.  There's maybe 30k people that live/work in Duncan, and of those 30k, how many are black male teens?  100?  150, tops?  That doesn't mean that every black male teenager is a criminal, but in a town of only 30k, there's only so many criminals to go around, and it's not hard to think of "the black male teens" and the "old white drunk guys" and the "daytime hooker".  The cops in town had to know who these crotchwaffles were, and had to know they were trouble.
You don't wake up one morning and decide the first crime you ever commit in life is going to be killing someone.  You don't commit the big crimes without committing the small ones first (crimes of passion are a different animal).

Frankly, if the victim wasn't a visitor from Australia, no one outside of Oklahoma would have heard of this at all.....unless it was three white kids who shot a black kid and happened to tweet about how much they hate blacks. Then we would have Sharpton marching on Duncan, Oklahoma demanding "justice".

^Yeah, I know. One of my daughters in law is from an even smaller town just outside of Duncan. Having this sort of thing happen there is unprecedented.

"People should take this into account before going to the United States.

Of course it's the NRA's fault that 3 pos teenagers were bored and wanted to watch some one die. Not surprisingly, this bit of reporting comes from NPR.

Difficult to know exactly who is who. What is clear is that at least one of the suspects has used racist language on his twitter feed.
