lol - I've already had to staple it. When I took ownership of it at work, I unboxed it to have a look and decided to see how stretchy the tracks were - not much apparently. So I had to stretch them.

The manual says to use a hot nail head to "melt" the little spoke parts that come through. Using staples might be difficult as once the track is on, there's no real space to utilise to get the staple in place...though I guess removing a couple of wheels first might work...but then the same could be said for using glue or the suggested hot nail head.

As for "what am I using the mini for"? I presume you think it's a mini? As in 1:72? It's not - it's a 1/35. Man - it'd be some boardgame for me to use this as a mini  ;D

I don't think I'm dextrous enough to make a 1:72 anymore. So I stay with 1:48 (for cost and ease of fitting together) for aircraft and 1:35 for vehicles...though I'm not sure if I'll ever do a vehicle again - they are very time consuming.

There's a lot to be said for good kits. This isn't great tbh. Quite a bit of work to do on it and very fiddly in places where you think they could've made it not so fiddly. It's a nice looking kit though.

I have a 1:48 Sea Harrier I got for £9 (about $14) in a sale and I am looking forward to making that one...but I've still got a long way to go with this one

I've been playing lots of Animal Crossing this weekend.  8)

Attaboy!  I used to play Animal Crossing with W8taminutettes 1 and 2.  Great game.  I think I managed to get a level 5 mansion iirc.

Oh - I thought it was the "Forces of Valor" 1:72 scale M1A2.  The pieces look exactly the same but then again, I guess most kits of an M1A2 would look quite similar to one another.  Also, I thought that you might be making it for use in a tabletop miniatures game (such as Force on Force) - not a boardgame.  That's what I've been making mine for.  See http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/41837/force-on-force for more info if you like.

Exactly!  I helped finance my second daughter's 3rd home.  In return she made me a patterned umbrella from Able Sisters shop.   :)

Hahaha, my daughter loves to design patterns!  They're all over the bloody place!  Then she commands me to make one which inevitably sucks because I don't have an artistic bone in my body (whereas she's very talented in this area) and I feel bad. :D

Thanks - someone had linked to that (and a metal set of tracks) some time ago. I'm giving the normal ones a go first - those look like a fair bit of work to make - and then paint

metal tracks are nice because the work involved is simply clearing the channel lines for the pins and putting them together.  the weight of the metal tracks also lets them fall across return rollers and whatnot in a very realistic way.
