World in Flames (Matrixgames) looking for beta testers (multiplayer)

Very quiet at Matrix re this game bearing in mind there were 50 copies for sale  :-\

To get my fix on Grand Strategy, I reinstalled HoI III and Semper Fi last night - and quickly realised why I dropped it. I loaded the Barbarossa quick start fight and within seconds of starting it - I got like 40 messages saying I was being attacked.

I get it - I can switch them off. I get it - I want to know. There's no middle ground...I want to know when I'm being attacked and where - but don't want 40 messages!

But it just reminded me what a pita it was. Came out and played - Sid Meyers Ace Patrol  ;D

Not a chance on this one:)  Although I could likely talk myself into justifying the price, just can't see how I would ever play this game since no AI.  No way I could schedule playing time with other players that have to be online at the same time as me.  I have to admit trying to search my own soul to see if I could enjoy even playing solitaire, but just can't see how that would be fun for me.  When the AI version does come out, I could certainly be tempted.....but until then.....will have to pass the torch to someone else.

My bet is JD will still end up with this, regardless of his denials:)  I will start the betting he will have by the end of the weekend....

Hello? 50 counters in a hex??? I thought the stacks were high in Imperium Romanum 2, but this??  :o

"The price at Essen includes the map which is an optional extra is half the cost, so halve the price when you think about the game alone."

Since I believe the purchase price at that event was around $207, does this maybe imply the game will roughly be around $100 if you choose not to include the maps?  If so, makes it more tempting, but would still be tough to pull the trigger without an AI.
