Ok. So right now there is no SP campaign right?

Ok, so if I just recently got ARMA II and still suck at it royally...like I die 5 min's in to every fight...do I want to spend the money for ARMA III right now?

GJK,
Only if you're planning on playing it right now.  The reason I say that is because it's at full retail $60 vice the $30 it was in beta stage (I told you guys to buy it while it was on sale!).  ARMA is one of those games that always goes on sale eventually, so there might be some merit in waiting a month or two until the hype dies down and you can snag it for a discount.

Of course, in my opinion it's worth $60.  It's the best at what it does and there is an awful lot you can download off the community hub already.

I'm guessing that people aren't leaving ARMA II in droves (yet), so if I do get brave and want to venture in to MP, there should still plenty of active ARMA II servers around - agree?

Edit: that they are NOT leaving in droves yet...

A lot of it's already been ported over.  The SimHQ group has already played around using ArmA II community maps in ArmA III.

Ha!

I have the whole ARMA2 set and still haven't played it yet.  Not being a big FPS player these days, it'll probably be a long time before I check out the latest one.  Far better than playing COD or Battlefield however.

I must be completely stupid....I know the campaign has been delayed, but where within the game can I play single player missions?  I have tried all the menu options and can't seem to find them....the final game did come with missions didn't it?

ARMA II = Real world equipment
ARMA III = Fictional equipment

I think a lot of people will still play ARMA II especially those clans than go for realism... and of course the DayZ players.
Once the nice MP modes like Wasteland, Life RPG, DayZ, and the real world equipment starts filtering into ARMA3 then it may be time to get it.

So how much has been ported over for those in the know?

You make them using the editor.  :P

Grim.Reaper

Really....no stock single player missions included?

Thanks...I tried that, but using showcases as an example, if I choose infantry, seems to only show one mission.  Is that all that is included in the base game, one mission per type?  I just remember if the older games, seemed like we got more, but maybe I am misremembering.

Sounds bad.  ARMA2 had more.  Looks like you need to search around for some user-made missions or make your own.

There is a ton of stuff in the Steam Workshop already.  It's just like modding Skyrim, you subscribe and the mission, add-on, whatever gets added to your game.

I only subscribed to one mission so far called Operation Hog Cove, which has a random, dynamically generated mission each time you re-start it.  Cool!
