I loved DCS in it and Project Cars - but ultimately, I did not like messing around with the cables. Additionally, with DCS, accessing keys was, for me, problematic.

I might look to get a Quest in future - not sure.

Which headset did you have?

I know exactly what you mean about the cables, etc. I was just ruminating the other day as I waiting for DCS to load again after having to restart due a VR related framerate issue. I was thinking, my God, this is why I don't play as much anymore. It can seem like it takes so long to get geared and set up. But man, when it comes together, it makes it so worth it.

You should definitely consider picking up a Quest 3. Clarity is commendable and it offers a very good wireless experience. You'll probably get better performance if you use the link cable, but VR in DCS is very much optimized these days so wireless play is definitely passable.

Wish you lived  closer. I have a bunch of spare heardsets laying around. Quest 2, Pimax 8k X, Quest Pro, etc. Would be happy to let you buy or borrow.

lol - you have too much money JH

I do remember sitting in the cockpit of an F/A18 - and I mean SITTING in the cockpit. It was beautiful. And I don't even think that was the best out there.

I can't remember if it was the Occulus Rift S or Rift 2.

So, of all those headsets, the quest 3 is the best ?  It looks like you could do a pretty serious review of VR headsets having experienced all those.

Quest 3 is far from the best, but it is the most affordable and does a lot of things well. It is a great wireless experience with good lenses and clarity. But there are definitely headsets that are better. Much better with performance, clarity and FOV. The problem with most headsets is that no single one is perfect with everything. Everything is a trade off. You want best clarity, you'll have to sacrifice FOV. You want a good wireless experience, you need to sacrifice performance. You want best tracking, you'll probably need lighthouses, etc. etc.

I have three headsets I use regularly now. A Pimax Chrystal. This has excellent clarity, strong performance and ok FOV. A varjo aero. This used to be king of clarity. It edges out over the Chrystal, but its horizontal FOV is lower. Finally, I use the quest 3 for room scale. Not having any wires makes it ideal for moving around.

In any event, so many options out there already and some exciting releases in the near term.

To Our Loyal Community,

First and foremost — we're sorry..we tried relentlessly

You've been our champions from day one. Your enthusiasm, trust, and support have helped our small team grow into something we never imagined. You didn't just buy our modules — you believed in us. And for that, we're deeply grateful.

But there's something we need to say clearly:
While you've continued to support our work, we haven't received a single dime of that support in well over a year.
You deserve to know that.

We've spent the past months locked in long, good-faith discussions with Eagle Dynamics in the hope of resolving this situation professionally — and being fairly compensated for the products you've embraced.

We remain hopeful.
But we cannot continue to support the platform or maintain our modules without being paid.
This is not sustainable. We are creators — but we are also people with families, obligations, and limits. We cannot be asked to work for free.

It's not just unfair — it's wrong.

This is also business. And in business, transparency matters. We continue to work toward a resolution. We still hope this is just a pause — a rough chapter — before we fly again with you in DCS and beyond.

Until then, know this:

We're still here.

We still care.

And we're still fighting to protect what we built — with you.

Thank you for standing with us through this.
We're users, just like you. We feel this deeply.

Loyally yours,
RAZBAM Simulations

So, no news. But doors not terminally closed.

I guess a letter like that is better than nothing but tells us basically nothing. It seems to boil down to the two companies still not really being on talking terms. Without details the "working for nothing" statement is worthless and I have to discount it out of hand. I still own the F15E against all rational thought in the hope that it will one day be worked on and finished.

It's just amazing to me that his lawyers can't get him to stop talking publicly about ongoing litigation. Rule number one of any legal proceedings, whether or not you're in the right.

I agree. The Reddit hordes may disagree, but I really REALLY doubt ED just decided to stop paying them out of, I don't know, malice? While still paying all their other developers, not seemingly being in financial distress otherwise, and thinking there would be no consequences. There's another side to the story here that ED being, frankly, smarter, is not starting a flame war about during ongoing litigation. Internet rumor is that Razbam tried to sell a module for the professional military version of DCS to an air force without licensing from ED.

Jarhead0331

I think Razbam is attempting to have the trial in the court of public opinion. When a party does this, it is usually because they have the weaker case legally, either on the facts or the law.

I just wish we had some sense of how the dispute is being addressed. Is it through arbitration? Is it in a court of law? Is there mandatory mediation or are there some other informal settlement discussions taking place? If I knew how the dispute was being resolved, I could have some sense of timeline.

I doubt that an actual lawsuit comes out of this.

A south american company suing a mostly russian one, in Zürich of all places. The entire legal budget of Razbam is probably used up having a lunch there.

And as per JH's comment, that's probably why they're trying to litigate it on Reddit and Discord instead.

What would a reasonable outcome look like ?  ED pays Razbam but all source code for all razbam modules is turned over to ED and they part ways ?  What is ED looking to gain for the contract breach ?  I mean can they just take over all the razbam modules and tell razbam to gtfo we're done with you ?  I think the last one is the case, they just can't officially until it's all settled.  I really don't think the Razbam guy has a leg to stand on in court, a breach of contract is a breach.

Since ED announced the F15c official module, I have wondered if ED are learning the F15 in preparation for having to take over development of the F15E. I know both models of the F15 are substantially different, but I did have that little hopeful thought.

Without knowing the details and thus being able to choose sides, the best case scenario for me would be if ED activated it's breach contract clause and took over the F15E development.

Also, how does a Russian company get permission to do an F15E or C module in todays climate? I know the aircraft models are older and a lot of the stuff they use is public domain anyways. But still.
What's really funny is that they cannot get permission to do their own russian aircraft!

There is a misconception that aircraft sims are licensed. Occasionally they are, but the vast majority of the time they're not and never have been, in DCS or otherwise (that's why you won't see e.g. the DCS F-16 advertised as the Lockheed Martin F-16; it's just the F-16, and festooned with statements that the product is not endorsed by the aircraft manufacturer etc. There's a lot in the public domain about all these aircraft.

The issue with the Russian government is different, it's that they're coming in and saying you can't produce a simulation of these because it's (supposedly) giving away military secrets. The issue at hand isn't whether or not the manufacturers are involved in any way. Steel Beasts Pro PE recently ran into this same issue from one of their military customers and has had to take the game temporarily off sale. But the US government has never been that aggressive about this kind of thing, and the aircraft models they're simulating are decades old. There is not and never has been anyone to get permission from.*

* occasionally some sims and specific modules in DCS do feature cooperation with the original manufacturer, I'm not saying it never happens, just that it's not a prerequisite. Think for example of the thousands and thousands of books about this or that military aircraft; it's not like I have to go get a license from Boeing to write about the P-51 (as they acquired North American which built it).

Looks like the F-15E has been pulled from the ED Store. Not good. Not good at all.

EDIT: Apparently, all Razbam products have been removed from sale...at the request of Razbam. Very not good.

From Bignewy in the forum.

QuotePlease note:

After receiving an official request by RAZBAM to remove products from sale we have done so. All products will be fully supported by DCS and will continue to operate.

thank you
