Combat Mission BO and BB mods

I was planning on re-installing these old classics and playing them this weekend, but I need some mod advice...  Are there any modpacks out there that combine a bunch of  vehicle / uniform / terrain mods into one?  I was perusing http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/ and there are just sooooooooo many, including many of each type.   I wasn't sure if anyone had ever put together a "best of" pack or something.

I don't know of any "best of" compilations.  "Must haves" for me though are M. Dorosh' ASL interface mod and DD's grass mods plus various vehicle mods.

Also, once you get CMBB/CMAK all modded up and then patched up to the latest, grab the no-cd patch (you do own the game, right?) and then zip up the entire game directory and archive it some where.  I did that 10 years ago and have simply unzipped and played it on half a dozen PC's since.  It will run as "portable", meaning that with the no-cd patch you don't have to actually run the installer on any PC to play it.  You could even play it from a thumb drive.

Cool, thanks!   I'll check out those mods as soon as http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/ gets more stable... keeps giving me application error screens.   I've got the original disks from years and years ago, but was toying with the idea of at least getting CMBO on GoG during a sale.

Where art this 'no-cd' patch of which thou speakest?

Do a good virus scan before you run the .exe.  I grabbed the no-cd patches from this site a long, long time ago and they've been just fine but I can't guarantee that these are the exact same ones that I downloaded all that time ago.  And remember, you do want to patch the game with the last patch for each and then rename the patched but game original .exe file and then extract the no-cd .exe file in the game directory.
