Uncertainty is the major problem. It always undermines business growth - never good for an economy.

until the Scots take a page from the putin playbook and start infiltrating agents demanding even more separation from the UK.

JudgeDredd, the separation threat here has done a few things.  I've seen this once and nearly another in my lifetime here and it hasn't been pretty.

Basically this drive the jobs and investment out of the province.  Also, it's driven a wedge between people over silly language issues.  On top of that, it's led some to believe that separation will let them be 'independent'.  If your economy is in the rut, and people discouraged from investing there, how will you really be 'independent' in the 21st century?  People have a good deal to be uncertain about.  If you're a Scot and a homeowner in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, maybe you're not worried about your home's value.  However, if I was a Scot living in Scotland, I'd be worried.
I don't think it would be 'business as usual'.

I had to laugh when I saw a Cornish independence movement while I was working there!  I wasn't surprised when the separatists here started encouraging such movements in Spain and Scotland.

Well I disagree - but differences of opinion are expected and welcome.

Westminster is broke and has been for more than 3 decades now. What's more is the people of rUK will know it and find their voice again. That's what the 3 stooges are really worried about.

But I digress. It's for the people of Scotland to decide. I think I said on here, two of my sisters are YES voters, one is NO as is my mother and my wee brother. Opinion is divided within households - but they'll hold up - as will the Scottish people after the 19th

I brought up the question during our last Americas meeting and the head honcho seemed a bit surprised that a Yank knew about this. (Thank you, GrogHeads and GH members.) He was fairly evasive ("Good question! Blah blah blah...") and pretty much only mentioned taxes as an issue, but pretty much pled 'wait and see,' which seems rather good advice right now. Because, really, what else can you do?
