I envy you guys...your able to jump right in and enjoy:)  I have "analysis paralysis" where I want to make sure I have the perfect setup and I understand everything before jumping in.  I have to break that habit some how!!!  Seems like there is a good game to be had....just so many options to consider....what team, what tactics, how to train, size of the database, what countries to include, etc.

Maybe start with a higher level team Grim, and let the Assistant Coach take over most the duties until it starts to make sense.  It's how I learned to play Distant Worlds and I may have to do it a bit with this version.

Makes complete sense and I really should just jump in....just with text sims that I am usually a perfectionist when trying to start since I hate getting 20 years in and realize I wasn't play right from the start:(  I know that is stupid way of looking at it, but the mental game is tough to get through....

I went into my game with Boreham Wood at 2-0-1 (I think that's supposed to be 2-1-0 for W-D-L, right?). They were a crap team so we easily handled them and added another win. It was really the game against Dover, which was rated 2nd overall in Skrill South, that I wanted to get to.



I figured the other teams weren't much of a challenge and my luck carried me through those games. And of course it's early in the season too, and I have no idea how many games there are, so who knows how long that will last.



My team had some scratches here and there but I left them be. I especially left Shaw, my 42-year-old goalkeeper, in place, even though Lovelock, the original 20-year-old starter, was now healthy. I figured I should keep the faith and see how things go.



By halftime we were up 2-0 and Dover had a red card.



And by final whistle, that's the way it stayed. We beat Dover. I watched as Shaw deflected one shot and caught two others, preventing the game from being 2-3.



One thing I've been noticing is how each game report states how we have "limited width" in the midfield. I don't know what this means, although I recognize it to mean things could be better.



Still on top of Skrill South after six games (I'm losing track). Dover dropped a place and Eastborne Boro moved up from 3rd to 2nd.



Next we're taking on Hayes & Yeading, which is just outside the playoff envelope at 6th.

Believe me, this version won't let you get 20 years in without knowing what you're doing.

I just started yet another new game.  I think I'll change things up a little.  I added the German Leagues Extension and am starting in the bottom of Germany.  The challenge is already on as I have almost no wage budget (I have to sign players on a per appearance basis) and the only players available to sign are mostly under 17.  This game just keeps on giving...

Nice job there Banzai.  I think you should buy the PC version though so you can join the rest of us in our Lower League misery.

As soon as I have the money to do so, I certainly will KyzBP. This handheld version has piqued my interest and it does intimidate me because I'm just kind of along for the ride...I don't want that much credit for these guys winning as I've not done much (in my mind) to make it so.

The real challenge will come in the off season when you have to start signing players.  Success or failure is then on your shoulders.

lol - something's not right with that Banzai! You have a wage bill of 25k a month and I have a wage bill of 10k a month. You have a transfer budget of 120k and I have a transfer budget of 4k!

I chose to play the mode where you create your own club and therefore have to replace another club. Maybe it's a crutch for a new club, getting that much cash?

I knew my weekly was out of this world, but looking through my players, only a handful of them make 300 or so pounds a week with the majority around 100-150 pounds.

I thought 50 was low, and thought 100-300/week was standard. I guess that's what I get for assuming after working with ONE fc.

It's funny but being an American I can't get used to weekly wages.  In my games everything is set to annual.

The weekly wage thing seems to make sense, at least at this low level. I imagine most players here as being part-timers with 'real' jobs and families so they might not stick around long.

After seeing Banzai's screenshots, I'm thinking that I liked FM2013's interface style better. 

I mean - does it still have a Tactics/Formation screen like this:




.. or did it all get dropped for the larger Lego block looking stuff?  >:(   Really.. there was much info and a lot you could adjust on just this one screen.  They didn't chop it down to multiple screens/tabs in order to make the (useless) background stuff larger did they?!  ???  I would be very disappoint.
