Let me know if you need the config file.  That should be easy to send.

Thanks, appears I did get that...looks like their server is down for maintenance today, maybe making the necessary changes to make things work for downloads:)

Just an in-game update:

I created a blank, fictional team using the pre-game editor.  After filling the empty staff positions (my board doesn't believe I need a Keeper Coach or a Physio  ???), I picked up 18 of the best players you can get for free...or so I thought.  We started our climb out of the Skrill South (England) by going 5-0 in our first 5 games.  I also managed to pick up the Manager of the Month award.  Ahhh, life was good, I was a genius.  Unfortunately the month of September seems to have other plans for my team.  We've just dropped the last 2 games, picked up two crucial injuries, and I'm about to call up two 16 year olds to cover the for the wounded.

The download is crawling along but it is still moving.  ;D

We have made it to the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup, meeting the 1st boardroom goal for the team.

It's funny how important the Cup and Trophy seem to be when your a lower level team.  Every little bit of prize money is so crucial.  Once you get higher up, the Cup and Trophy become an annoyance.

The money from the FA cup has been the difference between a profit and loss so far. I've made it to the 1st round, where we will be facing a league 2 side. Luckily we are playing at home so we should get some money out of the ticket sales. We are sitting in 4th place at the moment, but the busy holiday schedule is about to begin.

Oxford City in Skrill North

Oxford always seems to make it into the Conference Premiership and then haunt me until I get out of there.

So my team healed, regained form, and have been cruising along atop the Skrill South.  Then we get our first FA match against a completely unknown team, Jim's Crisps Shack I think  :-\, and then we dropped off the radar completely.  The board's angry, the fans are disappointed, even the mom of one of our U18's (who's also our temporary Physio), walked away in disgust.  Well, time to focus on promotion.

Too funny:)  Maybe it isn't so much fun coaching in the lower leagues after all:)

When all is said and done the Lower Leagues are where it's at.

Yeah, I likely will start in a lower league, just not sure how low at this point....

I downloaded the FM Genie Scout to see what it was all about.  I need to throw that thing into Mt. Doom as fast as possible.  The temptation to use it is way too strong.  It looks like it would be super helpful for digging up great buys at the lower level.  I plugged in a 16 year old who is in my starting 11, thinking this kid is a real gem, only to find out he's not going to get much better.  :(

I hate to say it, when I start I'll likely use it:)  Think it will help me understand things and I will just consider it my advanced scouting department since I don't have a clue:)

It comes packed with instructions but if you have any questions let me know and I'll try to help.  It will definitely help in the scouting department.

Did you just get the FREE version or the one that costs a few dollars, which is supposed to have a few more features with it?

I just grabbed the free one.  It seems pretty powerful buy itself.  I have to go back to work tomorrow but when I get home I may peek under the hood of the enhanced version.

Good luck!  This game seems well worth the time you put into it.

the nets packed with guides on who to buy, who to scout and who to follow without you guys having to buy anything

you always get at least one guy who makes a massive list of all those players with 190-200 potential and their starting clubs
