My gut tells me that within the next ten years we'll see a sweep of states legalizing it, and at some point it will have a tipping point that will reflect a shift in national political thinking.

The key will be a successful roll-out in Colorado. If it can be taxed properly. If the cartels can be kept out of corrupting the system (which is debatable: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/01/11/colorado-pot-shops-likely-targets-cartels-say-experts/). We'll probably have a Supreme Court ruling about it vis-a-vis states' rights, too.
