Probably my most anticipated game right now is Card Hunter: http://www.cardhunter.com/
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Really?  :o

Looks interesting... but not overly different than Doofus or the like.

I've not played Doofus. But yes I am actually really excited about it. The team creating it is hugely talented. I interviewed them a few months back: http://www.armchairgeneral.com/interview-with-card-hunter-dev-blue-manchu.htm

For some reason I'm really stoked about it. Call me crazy, I probably am.

It is a game I've been keeping an eye on as well.  Like so many other things in this world its got great potential, lets hope it lives up to it.

"Unusable" just means you can't equip it for one of your characters.  It's only good for cashing in for coins.  Here's another one...

You guys still playing this? For me it got old after the first few weeks. Just started seeming too limited.

nah, I mix it up at times w/ different builds.  I have an all-human-cleric party that ruins peoples' days in multiplayer all the time :)

plus, I can play at work with no installs / opponents needed.

if there was a solid civ-knockoff that was browser based and not masquerading as an MMO, I'd be all over it.

I haven't played it since beta.  It's fun but head-to-head mode didn't seem to fit the type of game to me, and the single-player content was a bit limited last I checked (as you said).

I just picked this game up again after not playing it since the beta.  It is still a fun game.  And I was pleased to see that they released their first expansion, Attack of the Artifacts:

It's interesting: I was never interested in these CCG games - I've never even played Magic: The Gathering - but lately I have been trying a bunch of these online versions and enjoying the experience.  I've tried:

Card Hunter (obviously)
Scrolls
Might and Magic: Duel of Champions
Infinity Wars

Of those, I like Ubisoft's Duel of Champions the best.  It is a very polished game that is easy to play.  I also like the feel of the card matches - they actually do have a sort of battle feel to them.  Mojang's Scrolls is also entertaining - it has a Chess-like board where pieces move and fight - but that game is only in early beta (v.124) so it has a looong way to go.  I hope it makes it because it definitely has a lot of promise.  Infinity Wars is a game I want to like - it is the only card game I found that actually has some sci-fi units, and I like how it even has a morale system - but the gameplay feels a bit lackluster to me at the moment.  It is still in beta - v.97 - so maybe things will improve.  I hope so.

I still want to try Blizzard's Hearthstone, as well as download the demo for the recently released Magic 2015 game on Steam (came out today).   The big one on the horizon that everyone is waiting for is HEX, one of those mega Kickstarter projects that promised the world.  Based on closed beta feedback, it does seem to be coming close to the hype of the first MMO-CCG bybrid game.

BTW:  Duel of Champions and Infinity Wars are all F2P, as is Hearthstone.

Edit: the trailer for Duel of Champions that shows off the gameplay:

It really is the best of the bunch so far.

I've had about a half-dozen guys bail out on me the past 2 days within minutes of starting a multiplayer head-to-head match.  I didn't think my all-human-cleric party was that intimidating.

Brant, you know a man can't make money unless he can get people to P2W his CIVMMO...Lord, how I hate them all.

And, as I was playing the SP, I was thinking of the MP and wondering how long it would take someone to min/max themselves a cleric army...now I know...

Best,
