Oh, and I actually laughed at how corny that scene was of Danerys riding off to safety...  ::)

That looked so cheesy it could've used a chafing dish.

Oh f-ing snap!

Twitter consensus at this point seems to be that everyone is just going to start rooting for the White Walkers at this point.

Some of the tweets are hilarious, too

QuoteI despise this show.
When does it return?

All of the written source material is done.  Now, everyone is on the same page.  I'm glad it turned out the way it did.  It gives Benioff & Weiss the ability to go whatever direction they want.

Oh!  And best line of the night.  After Jon Snow finds out that Sam popped his cherry, "Well.  I'm glad the end of the world is working out for someone."

Second best line of the night.  John Oliver, on a story about corruption in the Canadian government, "Canada is just five hockey rinks surrounded by bears."

Stunning season finale for sure. I'm still pretty shocked. It'll be a long wait until next season.

from what I've read, the actor who plays Jon Snow is under contract through season 7. Interesting, eh?

This did cross my mind... I dread what he'll be like though after being resecitated by the god of light

Still missing some of the others, too.

As for whether Jon Snow is really done for good, Harrington says producers have confirmed he's finished.

"I've been told I'm dead. I'm dead," said Harrington. "I'm not coming back next season."

Game of Thrones show runner Dan Weiss says fans should accept the fact that Snow, and actor Harrington, will not be resurrected.

"Dead is dead," Weiss told Entertainment Weekly.

"We would hope that after seeing the scene and the way it's shot that the answer to that will be unambiguous in the minds of the people watching it."

I'm not sure how that works contractually. Kit Harrington is signed on for the show by contract through Season 7. He even received a significant raise along with the other A-tier actors on the show. Why negotiate a contract and pay an actor a raise if you are just going to kill him off...doesn't make sense, from a legal/economic perspective.

There is so little left to hang my hat on with this show now. With Jon gone, I don't give a flying f*** about whats going on in the north anymore. The queen of dragons has gone wandering off on another time sucking sub-plot and the only possible interesting bit is if Tyrion, GreyWorm and Varys make a reasonable go of it managing the city. I completely agree. I only have a passing interest in seeing Ramsay Bolton horribly murdered. All other plots, now that Snow is gone, can kiss my ass.

Its funny how the apparent death of Jon Snow has COMPLETELY overshadowed the apparent death of Stanis. Nobody is talking about his demise.

I agree, it doesn't make sense. He either comes back from the brink, orrrrr

A spin off!!!! Jon & Ygritte!

Jon's going to warg into his wolf (hence the foreshadowed name "Ghost") and you'll get him doing voiceovers.  He's "dead" in that Jon Snow's body won't come back, but they need Kit under contract for the voices.

And I'm in the camp that doesn't believe Jon Snow is done for and may yet share the throne with the Mother of Dragons.
