- someone important for the empire just died in a swimming pool accident

- the navy at kappa fornacis have been brought in to protect the onionhead fields

- theres a slave war somewhere

- the federation just parked a battle cruiser off some planet to protect trade

Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

My Lakon 6 runs hot....like really hot.  I overheat with every jump.  Suppose I need to upgrade the power core.  :)

i joined the 6 club - didnt realise how pimped my cobra was until i sat back in a vanilla ship - less jump, less power, less weapons but loving even the 50 sized cargo hold

very, very risky opening to my Lakon career - after purchasing the new 6 i was left with 45k in change. Spent it all, every last penny on coffee to boost the bank balance and set off Djindi - with 6ls to go i got interdicted by an NPC pirate. Struggled for about 30 seconds chasing the gate, but then decided to submit, slammed on the brakes, dropped out of SC, as soon as the dust settled i put all the power back in the engines and boosted away, NPC pirate simply stated 'youre going to die' and started blasting,  FSD came on 10 seconds later and i set off just as the first lasers started to hit the back of the shields - escape, docked, and sold the coffee - now with 51k and just about to arrive in the Onionhead capital of the universe for some more dodgy dealing

I'm currently headquartered at Zaragas, and I've considered moving towards one of the systems where the story events are going on.  Course until they give a way to transport ships it means selling my Viper and rebuying it over there :\

Yep, gotta upgrade.  I went to A class FSD and Power Plant and had no overheat issues.  You have to watch the temp gauge though, especially while fuel scooping.

Another tip.  Often it is better to change the auto-navigation to "shortest" rather than most economical, especially if your trading.  It can save several jumps off your trip.  I really do wish you could set that as default.

I agree with his critiques, particularly on the fining for salvage, and the crazy idea that the "black market" would be listed in a space station's contacts list.  Isn't that like finding "drug dealers" listed in your phone book?   :2funny:  I was hoping these two issues would have been addressed by now. 

I have shelved Elite for the moment because it needs some of these issues addressed.  Don't get me wrong: I like the game, but it is still a bit wobbly  for me on the finer points.

God damn it!  The server is shit today.  I've been kicked to the main menu twice and, even though I'm playing solo, the screens froze and failed to update for about 10 seconds when I was in a fight with a pirate.  End result?  My Cobra III was turned to scrap and that really pisses me off because I'd not lost a ship up this point.
