I want to hear of fleet battles you get involved with and some crazy sand box privateer missions that unfold from it.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

How the hell do you get to Frigaha? Its one local system I just cannot reach even though it says its only 5 LY from my present location. I can lock onto it from my navigation menu, but I cannot enter Frameshift because it exceeds my fuel usage by 0.60T. This makes no sense as it is only 5LY away and I have made farther jumps before...also, I cannot route it from the galaxy map. What's the deal?
I'm absolutely certain this is something that has cropped up with me, leaving me scratching my head...not being able to jump to a system saying it exceeds my fuel and I'm like "but it's only the next system away"...and they aren't hundreds of light years away...I can't remember how many LY away they are...but I couldn't understand why you couldn't jump to the next system...that left me using a load of fuel as I was trying to make my way across the galaxy to get out the hell hole I'm in.

In fact it definitely happened. I remember I was trying to get across the galaxy and I came to a dead end - couldn't jump to the next system and yet I was full of fuel. I took it as a limitation of my Sidey and decided to abandon my travels.

Something else about travelling by the galaxy map came up last night...I set Morkosh as my destination which showed all orange travel lines and was only two systems away. When I went back to the cockpit, I selected the right panel and scrolled down to Morkosh only to see it marked in red - couldn't select it to jump to - not enough fuel given my loadout of 3 military plans???

So I selected the previous destination of Grantham (or something) and jumped there, fully expecting to require refuelling at the station there...but I saw Morkosh through my cockpit window, so selected it and hyperdrived to it. So I could jump to it, the galaxy map said I could jump to it, but the left panel in the cockpit said I couldn't do it and forced me to change my plans - even though in the end I could jump to it.

I tell you - the galaxy map and travelling is screwy and it's given me headaches in the past.

And JH - I saw your message last night. A little light in a dark wilderness. Unfortunately, it took me about 10-15 minutes to find out how to reply....I haven't "in-game" chatted before.

Heh even if it works it often returns an error, that chat thingamajig. :)

Another thing I found out: if you plot a route in the galaxy map and you jump to the first system, just stay in supercruise. The next jump system is already locked. Just line up and engage the FSD again.
I always thought I had to disengage the FSD and do the whole jump process again. Thats why I never got why you could plot a route in the first place, if you always needed to manually set up the next jump. :)
Perhaps I should have watched the tutorial videos earlier or RTFM. ;)

Also, ship locking seems to be seperate from nav locking. But it does use the same screen. That's what screwed me up before.

Keep reading my posts in the thread, I solved the problem! It was my frame shift drive. The higher tier drives have less mass and can use more fuel per jump permitting longer distance single jumps. At the time, the most fuel I could use per jump was .60 tons which translated to about 5.05 LY. I upgraded to an FSD that permits me to use 1.20 tons which translates to a single jump distance of over 8 LY, a significant difference. I have much longer range now and make further single jumps.

What I'm learning is that when something doesn't seem to be working, the problem is usually with me and not the game.

Does someone who bought into the game in beta just prior to gamma also have a permit for Founder's World?
It seems an awfully far away system from where I am (LHS 3447) and would hate to have made the trip to find out I am not allowed in! :)

I bought when it was in BETA, but I don't know anything about permits and I've never heard of Founders World.

Nice seeing Yskonyn online.  We flew to another planet but I was jumped by a crazy guy.  I then escaped.  Then we just sat there and chatted away. Lol!

hmmm

Instead of using money to buy all sorts of fancy weapons. I use it to upgrade frameshifted drives, power generators and thrusters. For the thrusters and frameshifted, I try to find one that delivers similar power for less mass...this drastically increases the distance you can travel per jump. Don't confuse the amount of fuel you have with jump distance allowed. For the power generator, you can get some that generate more power and are lighter...allows you to run more goodies like warrant scanners, fuel scoops, better scanners, more powerful weapons, etc

I've been playing this game since alpha and I am telling you that there are very few mechanical bugs. If there is something you want to do but can't, there is a 99% chance there is a good reason that is intended.

Ok can someone tell my why am denied docking?  I have no cargo and within range.
Base just say I must follow protocol.

JudgeDredd

^ yeah - I picked that up from JH's post.

I'll continue to fumble around. I expect I'll get somewhere somehow.  :-X

Rather bizarrely, that's an issue I haven't come across.  :-\
