If you're the type to dig a bad ass jam first thing in the morning, this is the ticket. Turn it up!!
I am going to go hard core at something this weekend, just not sure what. Maybe some EuIV or CK2. Check back in with Sovereignty: Crown of Kings maybe. Got Age of Wonders III on the brain, too.
I've still got the Civ 5 bug pretty bad. However, today is the release of Interstellaria which I shall be downloading at the earliest opportunity - it looks very promising. Impressions forthcoming!
Other than that, I've just upgraded my kernel and graphics driver and suddenly some games I was previously unable to play are now playable. I may therefore also play Shroud of the Avatar and on Sunday afternoon how can I resist a relaxing round of Perfect Golf? Oh, and on top of all that, I couldn't resist the deep discount of Lords of Xulima at GOG so I may start a game of that too. Quite a nice weekend lined up!
I have my 2 day 200 mile bike ride next week (thank you very, very VERY much to all the Grogs that donated...fantastic effort from you all...thank you) so I'll be preparing my bike, packing things to make sure everything fits, getting a list of items I need together - so gaming will be thin on the ground.
Bawb - don't forget we're going to meet at the start on Thursday morning outside the Quayside Premier Inn! :knuppel2:
Also - I've decided to make the most of the summer weekends and make my model aircraft...something I should've done more than a month ago. I've got a plethora to work on and I've been putting it off because I'm scared of wasting them by using my airbrush which I'm not comfortable with - which is ridiculous because I specifically bought some cheap (£6) models for specifically that purpose.
So modelling at weekends is going to be my main thing.
On top of that, the Rugby Championship kicks off with New Zealand taking on Argentina and Australia taking on South Africa...and with the Rugby World Cup coming up, this is a must watch.
Sorry - what was the question? Sorry for the rambling.
I think if I do get any gaming in, I'll be aiming to complete the first race of the Season at Albert Park in Australia in F1 2015
That really wasn't a very interesting ending to a long gaming post - sorry
I'll be continuing the witp game with kyzBP
An old friend who I first played witp against in 2007 got in touch after 6 years to say he's ready for another game so I'm setting up the Japanese first turn again but with a surprise
Some bike riding nutter owes me a pbem turn for cmbs
And I'll try and squeeze in some elite
oops ;D
Tonight.
I did notice the other day I had left it 5 days or something...but my troops have nothing to live for. They are a disarrayed shambles.
I did send a turn either yesterday or the day before, so I don't know if you picked that one up. I checked last night and nothing was waiting for me

Been away from home - that turn is probably waiting for me - I will accept your graceful surrender of you think you've had your ass whooped!
Nah - we'll carry on. BUT - I think there's like 40 minutes left and I am very, VERY thin on the ground. You're Javelins, murderous APC's and Apache's (I presume?) have seen to that.
Don't forget my complete and utter incompetence! I sat back for the first 20 minutes or more allowing you to move forward and grab the best defensive positions.
Having said that - I don't think my forces proper turned up for 20 or 30 minutes. I only had 3 recon units.
And - the Russians are cobbled in the sense that it's only HQ and FOA's that can call for support. Recon are...well, rubbish.
Still - I didn't manage my troops at all well. Or my tanks. :crazy2:
The Rush was terrifying
lol - useless
JD ,and what is your "Geralt status" ;)
(i found out that taking just a day break or two, i loose a little overview of all the open main quests, side quests, and contracts and treasure hunts too, i switch between (all the open sub and sub sub stories told) ...and a shitload of question marks and blinking blackboard i didn't dare to investigate ... even more open quests and half told stories to swcitch between )
I need to get back to it is the status. I was thwarted by pCars, then F1 2015 and mostly just rl.
But I do love that game. :smitten:

What time would fit?

No that's OK - I'd rather fit in with your plans.
If you'd prefer Bawb...I'm in Newcastle on the Wednesday night...I could meet up for a couple of beers with you? I'll be having a few sherberts anyway...it might be more convenient than an 8am rise!
Does sherbert mean something different in the UK than it does here?
Continuing the Attila TW Last Roman campaign and hoping to play a bit of Ryse - Son of Rome.

Booze (but we also have sweety sherbert
Still working on cleaning up the man cave and getting settled into the new house. However, I hope to take some time for ARMA2: British Campaign, ARMA 3 multiplayer on King of the Hill, and if I pick it up I'd like to give Axis Football a try.
If the ARMA 2 campaign doesn't grab me I may regress back to Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising and work on that campaign some more.
Finally, I think it's about time to dust off the old HOTAS and start re-learning BMS Falcon.
Pretty ambitious gaming schedule this weekend. I'll be curious to see how much I actually get to.
Going to try to finish up the Northern Fury 4: A Cold and Lonely Place scenario in CMANO, and get the AAR started for that.
Some WITP pbem with SDR, and some Antietam pbem with Panzerde.
Will probably try to do some Beyond Earth or Rome II since I just grabbed my 'own' copies on sale recently (won't have to use my son's library).
Maybe some Warlock MP with Bob and MD if the stars align.
Last weekend before the long-awaited (and regrettably postponed) trip to Waterloo via Birmingham and London.
Campaign: Waterloo continues with Doug...still no Frogs North of the Sambre...
Doug has been greasing me in John Tiller's Campaign Series. Currently fighting a 1940 battle over the Dyle. I'll just repeat, this remains one of the best games of this type ever made. The Arab-Israeli game will be a day-one purchase, but I am REALLY eager to see the graphics updates retrofitted.
Commander: The Great War with Doug. The Turks and the Italians are getting the lion's share of the work done as their bigger brothers slog it out on the Eastern and Western Fronts.
Finished the second Gallipoli scenario with Boggit. He was doing pretty well given the difficulty of his assault (uphill and I had a really nice machine gun), but then needed to jump into the trenches to seize a VPLOC, grenades started flying, and something like 30 Aussies died in a single turn.
Still making my way through SoW:W.
And I will make a quiet wish for a Sicily turn from Vance. On a star. Late at night. With a candle burning gently in the background. As a lonely tear trickles from my eye.
Best,
Jim

That's a better plan, as the traffic in the mornings can be a bit of a bugger. Again, what time suits you - is around 7.30ish OK or would you prefer later?
Looks like I'm gonna be doing lots of World Of Warships.

About 8pm? I get into Newcastle about 17:00 and I'll have to get showered, changed, unpacked and fed.
PM me where you want to meet - rather than clog up the Friday thread with our rendezvous details. We don't want any riff raff turning up :2funny:
I am riff-raff..............lol
Will do.
Lots of CMANO for me this weekend. Tonight I'll be putting the finishing touches on my US Iran strike scenario for my twitch strewam tomorrow. Really interested in Helicopter assault scenarios, of which there are none that I can find. So I am going to start putting some scenarios together based around a Marine Amphibious group. I also need to start working on beta two for my French SSBN hunt scenario, which will include randomized weather, air support for the player, and some difficulty/balance tweaks.
Other then CMANO, I'll be putting some time in my new Cleveland class cruiser in World of Warships and my new game of Crusader Kings 2 with the new horse lords DLC as the Count, now Duke, Hapsburg.
Sweety Sherbert should be ucg's pr0n name.

Hey Sweety Sherbert - where's my CM:BS turn? :P
Sweaty Sherbert will also do.
I'll go with a Stardrive II to start with. Playing with the Bears as i don't see the point to choose a diplomatic race...

I'm in a city or business building mood so...
Continuing the Roman campaign for Imperium Romanum
Start playing Commander: Conquest of the Americas
CMRT PBEM
I'm going to make all y'alls day. Watch now and thank me later.
Fifty Shades of Strange. But it did make my day. I'm trying to wrap-up the final battle of the CMBN German campaign but dammit did they make this last fight as rough as Brillo toilet paper. Needing a little break, I'll try a Skyrim or POE. Happy Weekend-ing Grogs. 8)
Getting more of a feel for
OOTP 16 as the Seattle Mariners. I just bought it on sale from Steam.

Fantastic PC game overall. Arguably the best of the Commander series, with the subject matter being most fitting.

Just finished the Tarraco scenario and I'm onto Rome scenario which starts in 146 BC. I like the game too.
I seem to be mostly working on learning how to use Shadowplay and Sony Movie Studio together for a project that the Bro was hoping I could do for the nieces. Which has succeeded so far: creating a G(ish)-rated cut of the Back to the Future series.
Along the way I learned that the Blu ray conversion (which I've owned for a while) looks terrible -- I was going to say, still better than DVD in some ways, but converting it back to DVD resolution might actually have helped it a little! :buck2:
Apparently I've mostly been in a fantasy 4x mood this last week. I'd been playing the hell out of FE:LH up until Thursday, and now have a Halfling campaign going in Age of Wonders 3 (since I picked up the Golden Realms and Eternal Lords DLC in that GOG sale).
To round things out, I've also resumed my Federation campaign in BOTF (Ultimate Mod 5), and have also spent a little time with my just-purchased Steam versions of both Shogun and Medieval Total War. Fun!
Ended up playing Armada 2526. I forgot how much I enjoy this 4x space game.
Ended up getting hooked on World of Warships

Yes, I do. And I wish they would release another one. :)
Well...I did get to play F1 2015.
Started my championship and got 1 hour of practice, 30 minutes of qualifying and a 58 lap race done at Albert Park. I used the flashback...ALOT! Just when I made a stupid mistake because I wasn't concentrating...like running off the track because my head flashed to the side to see what was going on in the cricket...for example.
I was disappointed that I couldn't change the pit stop strategy meaning I was due 3 (yep...THREE) pit stops. I started on Options. Had 2 pit stops with 2 sets of Options and then a third with Prime. Also, the AI split the pit stops evenly - so 14-15 laps on each set of tyres. So on my starting set, I had 14 laps. First stop, I got 15 laps (my choice) to 29. Second stop I got 15 laps (my choice again) to 44 and on my third stop (for Primes) I got 14 laps to 56. Why I couldn't have stretched each of the options for an extra lap or two and took the primes longer I don't know...but I wasn't able to edit the strategy...so that was poor implementation.
Also - I'm not sure the AI wasn't cheating. Ricciardo had 1 pit stop. How he got so many laps out of the Option is beyond me. And why I need 3 stops I have NO idea.
It was fairly enjoyable if not lonely. I finished 4th...but only because I knocked a few AI's (accidentally). Also I was lapped by Rosberg. Ricciardo started in 12 (I qualified in 5th) but he beat me. Why? Because he was allowed to edit his setup and had 1 stop where I wasn't and was forced t have 3!!
Ended up playing some Warlock. The game is still ongoing, but it's just a matter of turns until I destroy my opposition. It the anti-climatic mop up stage of the game. blah.
If you were better at it, it wouldn't take so long :P
To be fair I've played nearly an entire game in the time it takes you to complete a single turn. :P
Touche, mon Capitaine! Any time you want to lose at some Warlock, look me up.
^Or get some War and Peace reading done.
Keep the funnies coming. It'll give you something to do while you are losing.
He could read The Wheel of Time during your turns. >:D
Or write a new version of the series.
^ I think the latter might actually take less time than the former.

As would I!
Unfortunately, it sounds like Bob Smith has no plans to make a sequel at this time; he's too busy with
Oriental Empires. Hopefully some day when he's done with that one...

I actually devoted some spare neuron cycles a while back to trimming down the sloggy(iest) six books into two books (from
Lord of Chaos through
Knife of Dreams, which itself isn't nearly as sloggy but plotwise needed to be included for balance). Every once in a while I go back and pick at it some more. Haven't gotten farther than LoC, but am well into it.
Then I come to my senses and go do something else with my time and energy. >:D
^Come to your senses?? Shut up!
