Thinking IS the best way to travel! You can go any where, any when, any how! And you never have to leave your chair. Good thing for us armchair warriors, isn't it? ;)
There won't be much in the way of gaming this weekend. I have to work Saturday and that leaves Sunday for football and fretting about my fantasy football team's performance. I have Brady and Gronk, so..., it should be ok, but you can never be too sure. If there IS any gaming, it will most likely be the old standby, Civ IV.
MD, you really gotta play something besides Civ IV...branch out a little. Life is too short to confine yourself to one game!
I've got a full plate of games I want to play. I'm feeling very modern-era combat today. So, I hope to start with some BMS Falcon, perhaps working through some tutorials to the point where I can blow something up. I also would really like to play some Steel Armor: Blaze of War. And if that doesn't scratch my itch, I'm just starting to get into Combat Mission: Black Sea.
So there's enough there to keep me occupied for a bit I suppose.
Now that the yard work is complete I can start working on my car.
Also going to have a first game of Halo: Fleet Battles tomorrow. I'll try to remember to take some pics.
And then there's a very cool preview I'm doing.... some of you are going to be very interested in this up coming game. ;)
And Wing Leader PBEM with SDR. Each of our first set of bombers have done their bit and now the second sets are closing in on the targets. Is there enough of either of our escorts to protect them?
When i can there will be EU 4 England and WitP PBEM with KyzBP
The PBEM with Cyrano and HoN has puzzled me - its a 6 turn scenario, it says were on turn 7 and its his go but ive had no defeat notification - i think were stuck in limbo
i spent some time thinking about a game that would press all my buttons this week - modern equipment, special forces, capturing and holding objectives, good graphics and immerssive gameplay, struggled for a while searching the steam libraries and then realised wargame probably ticks all these boxes so ill give that a bash too
Nuttin'...'cept Reserve stuffs is on my horizon...my boring, boring, flat horizon... :buck2:
Marching in a Veterans Day parade in Queens NY on Sunday. The Guard's Commanding General is the marshal. Lots of police, fire, and military units participating, should be grand.
Beyond that, will putter around a bit more in Skyrim's Forgotten City and then...finally...a new Pictish campaign in Attila: TW.
A friend passed away yesterday so waiting to here on arrangements for that. Otherwise when I can would like to try to get in some CK2, EU 4, Vicky 2 and maybe some PoE (both eternity and exile)

I may try CAMELOT in Attilla. As well as some Take on Mars and other odds and ends.
Will probably play some more Skyrim this weekend. I snuck Hearthfire on my credit card (five bucks, my wife won't find out because of my clandestine ninja purchasing skills) so I have that to mess around with.
Also going to play some Wings for the Baron (by VPG) and hopefully Betrayal at House on the Hill, maybe some A&A 1941 too.
Camelot in Attila?
Depends with me if this is a quiet weekend, which there are some indications that it will be, it'll be DC: Case Blue where I'm finally starting to hit my stride I think. Turn 7 and I've inflicted 173,000 casualties on the Russkies for just 17,000 in return. Got several large encirclements to eliminate and think I've just bagged the 5th Tank Army to boot. Still the eastern horizon is filled with red squares-- damn, do these guys ever run out of men? And HQ is on my ass. They want the port of Azov--- YESTERDAY. Why? There's not even a decent seafood restaurant or Tiki Bar in the whole damned town! :o If it's not quiet around here then something requiring less thinking power. Maybe Rule The Waves or Pillars of Eternity.

Camelot in Attila?
It's a mod. adds the faction (to the Romans): Camelot. Doesn't look very good, but I'll try anything even vaguely Arthurian.
Very difficult to say...however, most likely will play some BMS 4.33, HALO 5 and CoD Black Ops 3.
I'll be plugging away at my Ageod Civil War II grand campaign. I'm in February 1862, so being able to create corps should be in the next turn or two. I'm building up an invasion force for New Orleans, with John Fremont as the leader. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. All the Union leaders suck at the beginning of the war.
After seeing how close Conquest of Elysium 4 is to releasing, I went back to play some more CoE3. I haven't played it much since release and was pleased to see a lot of work had been done on it. I love that there is on option to change text size to large! So, more Conquest of Elysium this weekend for me. Also playing Rebuild 3, a fun little zombie game.
CMANO and Fallout 1... Not sure I'll have time for anything else. Depends on the wife...
Thanks Meng...have not heard of Camelot.
not seeing a whole lot of love for fallout 4
You preordered?

me? hell no - im more about countries and armies than one wee fella - it looks like a massive game though
If Fallout 4 is Flo-Rida, then my computer is the club that can't handle him right now.

Why would you? Its not released until Tuesday.
I will be shocked...SHOCKED...if F4 does not rock the house. There is no way I will not get it...but it must be on sale.

.. Also playing Rebuild 3, a fun little zombie game.
I also picked up
Rebuild 3 on the GOG sale. May check it out this weekend.
But I also just got
The Fall Of The Dungeon Guardians release, on Steam. That has priority.
Any multi-player itch will be scratched with
Armored Warfare or
World Of Warships.
War Thunder also got some massive update, with some engine improvements, but my download keeps shitting out with a write error, on the 8+GB download, for some reason.
Superb album that!!
Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead after I just bought the complete collection this week. My new SSD really loads the games fast so I'm happy with that.
Continuing as Greece in Victoria 2.
CMSF with the Canadian campaign.
A bit of a gaming funk at the moment. Came across my chess programs so after spending most of a day getting chessmaster 10 and fritz 7 loaded off we go. I still cant get Chess mentor to install no matter what i do. I haven't picked up a piece in quite a few years so i'm more studying than playing. since i couldn't get chess mentor to load i picked up chess tutor step 2 and 3 and joined some free sites for some tactics refreshers. Don't know how long it will last but i'm into it at the moment, even rereading Fischer's biography.
A bit of Skyrim for me, I think.
Me too!! With a beer. Momentarily.
I hope the Forgotten City mod doesn't continue to crash it out.
Working nights all weekend. Hopefully my drunken Brits will manage to actually hit something with their bombs in my PBEM game of Wing Leader against Bart.
Watching Stagger blindly fly around in circles as he tries to spot my bombers in our forum based game of Nightfighter.
Filling out reams of paperwork for my stupid provincial job certification board (more like a medieval guild, especially in when it comes to their archaic filing practices) so I can write the certification exam and level up!
Maybe some Risen 3.

Its a Blizzard weekend for me. Blizzon is this weekend, so while I'm watching the live stream of it I'll be playing some Diablo 3 and the Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void preview missions.
There will also be my usual weekend CMANO stream and scenario work and some World of Warships.
I was tempted to load up Skyrim, Dragon Age 3, or buy The Witcher 3 but with Fallout 4 out Tuesday there's no point to starting an RPG that's just going to get thrown aside in a few days.

I hear ya', Drivin' Cat. It's not that I lack for games, it's just the familiarity and comfort that brings me back. That, and I have a friend who is RELENTLESS about playing this mp with me.

Superb album that!!
Thank you, sir! One of my faves (of which I probably have hundreds depending on day, mood, time of day, circumstance, etc. ad infinitum).
This Skyrim is pretty f'd up...

For the first time in months I have a free weekend!!! I'll be trying to keep up with UnderCoverGeek in our WiTP:AE PBEM. After that though, I'm open to suggestions. I've been staring at all my games but none of them are grabbing me.

It was a co-worker who was more friend to me than workmate. We both had kids around the same ages so we would compare notes, share pictures and stuff like that. Plus I ended up getting her hooked on the Dresden Files books.
Yesterday was not a fun day and I ended it with an extremely large glass of Bushmills on the rocks to try to forget it.
Thank you for the concern though.
Sorry for your loss, jamus. Maybe another Bushmills?
Man I just don't have the brain power for BMS this late at night on a Friday.
I'm going to pull back 100 years and go with some Scourge of War instead.

My best friend of 26 years was a fan of Bushmills. The last time I saw him he came up here for a weekend visit before moving overseas, he brought a bottle up and drank most of it before forgetting it when he left. He died two years ago (anniversary in 13 more days) and the bottle is still in the pantry with about 2-3 shots that he left. One of these days I'll finish it for him but I'm not ready yet.
^ That's heavy man. ???
So I couldn't get SoW to sandbox me a decent scenario so I booted up BMS after all. Hot damn does BMS friggin' rock! :smitten:
I can hardly do crap at this point, especially in any other jets, so I flew the KF-16 exclusively in the Rolling Fire Korea campaign, flying air-air missions only. Wow. Just wow. The whole game from start to finish is just amazing.
THIS is the reason I bought an Obutto and all this damn flight sim hardware. Hell yeah! O0
CMANO for me. I'll be finishing up my NI: Bardufoss Blues AAR and hopefully starting on the next one, Trondheim Express.
Age of Decadence and CoD: Black Ops 3. Luckily, I'm not having any of the problems with BO3 that others have reported.
MD...great choice of song/album...one of my favorite all-time groups...saw them live in the old Spectrum in Philadelphia in 1973. Re-downloaded Civ. 5, forgot what a great game it is. Deep into a campaign as the Babylonians.
I opened the door. It got weird.
^OK, now I'm hiding behind the sofa.........
Gus, don't travel too far back in time. You'll end up in diapers again.
None of my saved characters works anymore so I'm starting from lowly level 1 yet again. So the Forbidden City shall remain forbidden to Toonces for a while yet.
Predestination
Galactic civ 3
X-rebirth
In a space type mood
Predestination is really coming along nicely. Another few months and she will be there
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing Final Cut
Grey Goo
Warhammer 40K 2 Retribution
Warhammer 40k Armageddon

Thanks, Rayfer. I've seen them twice. Twenty some odd years apart. And for all the love I give Civ IV, I have no interest in Civ V. Go figure.
That's cause yous got no taste. :crazy2:
What are you talking about? I like you, don't I?
I put the Forgotten City aside for a bit to finally begin the Attila TW game as the Picts, with the Radious mod. Holy frijoles is it fun!! I have wiped out the Caledonians and allied with the Ebdanians (Irish) and am in the middle of a struggle with the Britons (Romanized Celts)...if I survive and consolidate will then move on to challenge the Franks. Fun!
i went old school and opted for Supreme Commander Forged Alliance - awesome - just what was needed, one of those rock, paper, scissors games where you try and advance, fail, try again, fail and sit and have a cuppa on pause and try and work out what to do next

Thanks Meng...have not heard of Camelot.
Camelot -- what happened? On easy, had a hard time getting out of Great Britain. I distributed the Knights of the Round table into a few other armies, but it turns out the basic Camelot troops are pretty good. No point in hiring Huns when you have longbows. I don't have much cavalry, but this might be fine since it means Sir Gawain and Co. can use their superior speed to stay out of trouble while the militia and the longbows blow the Ostrogoths or Geats or Rebel separatists to bits.
Mars -- what happened? I'm playing in the editor, learning how to work the gear.
Damn the Britons are tough. I spent all of last night in a war of attrition with them, losing 1000s but whittling down their strength as well. Will return tonight to try and finish the job. Love the Pictish night fighting ability and the Radious mod opens up some awesome infantry and cavalry units.
What's the matter Gus? Are they, "Pict-ing" on you? :-X
He's sure getting Celt in that game. ;D
As long as he is on the woad to victory.
If you find something that works, Druid again and again. ::)
I like turtles.
