Naval War Arctic Circle published by Paradox

On sale at Steam for 12 bucks US until tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the clarification. I wish the name of the game had been in the thread's title.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

i imagine that will be 'command'/red pill

I'm really looking forward to Command. I'm not really happy about there plan to lock down the database. I was planning on doing a futuristic scenario, set in the 2030's, with fighters/bombers like you saw in the movie stealth, with BBG class ships fighting it out Jutland style but with a lot more range. But the developers have said that they won't allow any of those type of units into the database that plan is out the window.

It is sad about the database, but they claimed they had 5 different versions of the Sverdlov so maybe it will all work out.

^It's decent enough for 12 bucks or even the 20 I paid at release. The lack of saving your game is perhaps the most irritating thing.

Doesn't sound like the dev is going to fix the save game issue for a while....  >:(

so...............

1. try and sell DLC to the community which they wont buy because theres still no save feature

OR

2. fix the save issue and sell the DLC making everyone feel like you really did them a favour and they buy the DLC on the feel good factor

as MD of undercovergeek enterprises i would personally choose option 2

Yeah, they really need to take care of the save feature before doing anything else.

I wish they'd do something about the freeze bug.  That dick JanH won't even respond to questions about it anymore.

Oh wow, that doesn't sound good.  Have they been downsized?

I bet that a save function would at least allow many of those who encounter the freeze/time compression bugs to at least get around them.

I actually feel sorry for the devs.  They were very enthusiastic about their game throughout development and engaged with the Paradox forumites constantly.  Then the game comes out, turns out to be riddled with bugs, and the devs don't have the expertise to fix them.  Pretty embarrassing.

Still sucks for those who bought the game and were never able to play it though.  I reckon Paradox will issue refunds.

hopefully its the last game turbo tape games ever makes

i hope some really aggrieved customer (i paid £4, im not that upset) hunts them down on every game site they create and asks them if its got a save game feature, just to really piss them off like theyve done to a lot of people
