I may have got our more hersuite forumites mixed up - I did of course mean the baby faced tractor factory hero steelie

Actually, I think, if MetalDog had a moustache, he would/should have one like Lt. Lodashik.

Ok, anyone else thinking "Day 1 instant buy"?   8)

I have heard such good things about the board game, and I love the art style, so I'm pretty sure I will be getting it.

The turrets rotate on the counters?! Nice!  8)

It seems like long ages that it's been in development, and at some points the impression was that it had been put on hold in favor of tabletop projects.

Good to see that it's making progress once again.  8)  Looks beautiful.  Wow... looks like the tank turret graphic actually moves to where it fired, too.  :o

EDIT:  And with the black background colored SS units again?  At least tell me the Soviet Guards units have their own color too - or is this another Axis Fanboy 'Supermen' nod?  :P

Different counter colours are purely for force differentiation. Hell, Luftwaffe field infantry and Fallschirmjager have their own colour, too (blue).

So those maps look hand drawn - I am presuming there is no map editing with it. Presumably a scenario creator though ?

Just another day on the BF forum ... one demented idiots reaction to BF disagreeing about the thickness of the armour on a Tiger II turret mantlet.

Wow. This has been in development for so long.  I thought it was dead already?

Look closely.....  ;)

I did note the turret facing. Does the game also include animations for artillery barrages, tank kills, and building destruction? Differing unit art for big guns when either deployed or transported? Field Kitchens with grunts queuing up for rations?

Yep, me!

I drooled over this game when it was originally announced on the Matrix forums. When it went quiet for a long time, I just assumed it had been canned. Fantastic news that this game is going to finally be published.

I'll be buying a copy as soon as possible :)

There probably won't be any map editing as tehre is a LOT of LoS programming etc. on each one.
Possibly a scenario editor... not sure = don't quote.

Turrets turn = yes
Animations for arty, tank kills = yes building destruction = no or not yet - only way to destroy a building is to drive through it and rubble it. Dangerous thought as it might have a basement and trap your vehicle. Again don't quote.
Bigs guns are never transported so no.
No field kitchens, you'll be too busy killing things.  8)

This is a direct port of the board game. Too much fun to change anything.

Not even close. There wasn't a lot of money to pay for a fast development track, but development never ceased.
