Is it as bad as everyone expected?

Don't think anyone here bought!  ;D So who knows how bad it is..... :P

It would seem I have a quest.

And which tribe of native North Americans will you take control of to invade Europe? Or will you defend against them?
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

Bismarck

South American and one can only defend in solo.

It would seem I have a quest.

I own it, but can't bring myself to activate it. Each time I think about doing it, I get a little sick inside.

I'll do it eventually but I have three reviews on deck.

Same here.

I have all the DLC (grabbed the pricey retail bundle of everything when it had a small discount) but I keep Sunset Invasion disabled.

I read a review on CK2 that included a lot of impressions of Sunset Invasion somewhere, about a month ago, (was it W-gamer front page?) that had more details than most.

Ah!  Here it is...  http://www.wargamer.com/article/3325/pc-game-review-crusader-kings-ii-the-republic-and-sunset-invasion-dlc

After reading this thread, I thought I might as well pick up the Sunset Invasion DLC while it's on sale at GamersGate for 75% off.

Now I don't see an option to turn it off! I never activated it, but it seems that once you purchase CK2 DLC from GamersGate it is automatically activated within the game.

I wish I'd never bought it now. Does anyone know how to deactivate it?

Edit: Sunset Invasion is not listed in the launcher so I can't simply uncheck its box as I can other DLCs.

Thanks for the warning, Greybriar. I just decided to grab the missing CK2 expansions I don't have in this sale. Glad I read this first. No Sunset Invasion for me!

That's just.. odd!

I had to manually tell the game launcher to download each and every DLC manually from inside the game, on my GG version.  >:(  I thought that was rather annoying at the time - would rather have had the option to just d/l it all and then uncheck what I didn't want to use.

BTW.. to disable DLC, use the CK 2 game launcher.  NOT the in-game thing.  You can scroll through all the packages at the bottom and check/uncheck them before hitting PLAY.

I can sort of see the point - as an option - if you could turn it off or on at will. I think being unable to play the Aztecs is a bit of a bore though. It just seems like an  ahistoric end-game Boss thrown into the mix to contend with - OK, but nice to have the option to turn off.

Yeah, after going through the in-game store and activating my DLC, I can see where I can select what I want active. I may buy the Sunset Invasion DLC afterall.

Sunset Invasion is not listed among the DLC on the CK2 launcher.
