Well Windy and I could leave the starter island, but we are walking Metal through atm and LB once he's online at the same time.

Yeah I would Tent.  Windy and I are close and can finish out.  I've got another character to help get folks through the starter area.  The worst thing would be you have two characters to play.

The rare encounters are random spawns.  So if you don't see it; exit and return to it's location.  Use the wiki to learn the locations of where to look in the wilderness area.
