And an excuse to use it.  I'm not giving in to his demand.  It's too much Mana and I am not going to make it easier to sneak attack.  War it is.

The state of the map as war is declared.  It looks worse than it is.  Those are Veteran Guardsmen in Viperhall.  And all his troops are Level 1.

The attack on Spellmere commences.  It is possible that his demand was predicated on the fact I had troops outside his Capitol.  It also occurred to me that he should have considered what might happen if I chose war rather than accede to his demands.

Helpful in a, "wouldn't it be cool to catch his guys in each hex of that Volcano spell," kind of a way.  Not very practical, as the damage is slight per Turn.

Not the Capitol, but a worthy, and richly rewarded, goal.

What wonderful timing!  And I have exactly enough to retain him :)

The unit in Spellmere is going to find it VERY hot in a moment.

Two Turns into the war and those are the remnants of the besiegeing force around Viperhall.

I so wish there was a way to direct your Research.  Two left.

Norcastle, and the rewards for capturing it, are mine.

The three cities you see on the map are the only three I know of that remain on the board.  They are certainly the only three on this plane.  I have failed to induce an Avatar to appear.  It is possible that there is some unmet requirement.  I am going to continue to look for it in the other planes.  However, as much as I have enjoyed writing this AAR and even more appreciated you who have followed it, I am going to stop.  For now.  If the time comes that I find something interesting to add and AAR, I will do so.  And if I find and defeat the Avatar, I will most CERTAINLY chronicle that!  But until then, I am done.
