Wargame: AirLand Battle

In the vid I posted the guy only had 1 or 2 territories to sort then he helped out his team-mates - I wonder if MP is where its at - his battles seemed fairly hands off - put tanks here in forest and leave them to look after themselves - put helis here to fire at long range - check map - it all seemed surprisingly relaxed

I think it is until the fight starts. Once units begin shooting, it's "fast and the furious 6". Nothing but stuff flying around and explosions. Maybe once I know what I'm doing it will clear up.  Not saying its a bad game or anything, just giving fair warning. Some have said that its not a click fest but I think their definition and mine must be different.

In MP,  the fastest clicker still has the advantage.

Well, I have learned a few things as far as RTS gamers. Its not that they click faster, they process information and make decisions faster (usually through lots of practice, but not always). My brother and I play games all the time and I consider myself a better pure strategist than he, but he beats me at RTS games all the time. He simply has a better feeling for those types of games.

Once the fight starts, everything goes way too quick for me...way to click festy. I will mess around more with it but damn. It's definitely more like C&C then Combat mission. Knew it would be but figured I would try. Graphics are beautiful though and seems pretty fun if you like Starcraft, C&C, etc

Pretty much how I'm seeing it too.  I think it's a fun game, but I doubt I'll ever give it the time to make it worth trying MP.  Conversely, I suspect the only way to make it less of a clickfest is to play MP, and assign different sectors/roles to your team so you can focus more.

Definitely an improvement over WG:EE, though.

QFT!   I used to be able to just stomp all over people, no less the AI, in a game like Homeworld or RTW.  now when I go back and play them its a sad sad time.  another analogy is Counter Strike vs WoT.  WoT just doesnt play as fast.

I am REALLY enjoying this game!  The dynamic campaign is a hoot.

I've tried to play a little bit online, but mostly met raging teenagers...  I'm hoping  I can convince some friends to play so we can learn together.  The community doesn't seem nearly as friendly as the Men of War community, which is the only other RTS I've tried to play online with the unwashed masses.

I feel your pain!  I'm generally more of a turtler when it comes to RTS games.  Wargame tends to force you to stretch your forces beyond your logistical capacity...or maybe I'm just not playing right lol

There are some let's play vids by a guy called dip rez or something similar and he plays 3 MP games as the germans, british and USMC and they all seem very relaxed and enjoyable - they made me buy the game

^watching one of them - and I have to say - it looks like a "select all and charge" thing.

I don't know...I'm not a huge clickfest fan and I panic MASSIVELY.

Looks like Red Alert in 1980s Europe!
