I have not played Rise of Flight - yes, i would have thought it was one of the less complex ones. At least one can just focus on actually flying.

I gave up on any and all DCS World products last year. I bought several and DCS World seemed like a great idea and the combined arms module was appealing, but the game is so dreadfully impossible for anyone to play for anyone who is not already a pilot or must have much time and great dedication. Clearly DCS games require all those other things like track IR and such that turns ones room into something from flight of the navigator , for my laptop and just a mouse and joystick it gave me nothing but sad sad crashes, the types of ones where i have barely been able to get off the ground and then my black shark is just rolling down a hill and i am still strapped in it at the end and able to push some now non-functioning buttons.
And i was only able to get into the air in the first place after hitting some bizarre key combination to let the computer start up the black shark - if not that then i would have spent another hour on the ground just pushing buttons waiting for something to happen! realistic but not fun - after all that then trying to actually do anything with the helicopter and its hundreds of buttons, switches valves levers etc - well... you get the idea
suffice it to say my interest in new complex flight sims stopped there. That and the fact that the dcs world map just seemed so lifeless.
I am enjoying the learning curve on wargames far more than flight sims.

I decided to just jump in with some games and then just check the manual when i come up against something i cant just work out with experimentation alone,  - this though may not work so well as a strategy for like War in the East, where one should learn everything at the start for a serious game. I can imagine that one could go some way in such a game playing it incorrectly and but then lose it all gradually over hundreds of turns so that one may have even perceived their mistake - like a frog in slowly boiling water as goes the oft used analogy.

I have been in the barrel here for WAY worse than the track clip. But anyway...it seemed to be really sensitive, it picked up every movement, so I want to tone it down.

I haven't played a flight sim since IL 2. I was so bad at that game my AI squadron mates voted me, "Least Likely To Get Off The Ground", and "Most Likely To Spend The Entire War Flying Upside-down". My Japanese squadron mates volunteered me for a Kamikaze mission-- before Pearl Harbor. There was no flight stick or headset that could save me.

I was trying to get my TrackIR fo work last night amongst other things and it was not cooperating.

Have you tried this guide even though its for DCS A-10?

IIRC there are sliders for each axis that will automatically adjust the curve up/down.  No need to drag the points on the graph about unless you absolutely want to.

Fortunately I only had to adjust upward by one notch, on one axis, with mine.  Now I just need to figure out if there's a hotkey for re-centering it because my head always seems to take a new default location a couple minutes into a sim.

If Egypt is too difficult, try Argentina or Brazil instead.

Qin Dynasty (China with POP demand Mod installed) is another good one.
