Ah!  Yes CKII.  I will be playing that.  Why it seems only yesterday I was a craven Khazak Khan who was clubbed into incapacity by the Byzantines on a field of victorious battle.  Since I had been hit in the head, I let my son out of jail and died and then he got all the credit for
beating the Byzantines.  BUT he had the Duchy of Novograd so now the Khazaks are expanding up there and giving up on Georgia.

I'm really fascinated with the endless, fairly plausible narratives the game generates.

Otherwise the usual:  ARMAIII, the Burning Blue and CLOD.

Strangely -- just CKII TOG all weekend with only an hour or so of The Burning Blue.  Gad. in CKII TOG I was a Khazak.  One Khan was bashed in the head by the Byzantines and one died of Stress fighting the Byzantines.  The third Khan barely avoided being killed by the Byzantines and has now declared all areas near the Byzantines independent so as to stay out of trouble when the Byzantines come in to join another mass rebellion.  So now the Khazaks are centered around Moscow and Moyzhansk.

I ended up grabbing The Witcher 2 from Steam's weekend sale, and played about 6 hours of that. I also played Football Manager 2013 taking Farnborough FC through a season, which saw us at the top of the table going into January only to fall back to 5th by the end. Currently in a playoff for the 2nd promotion spot out of Conference South. Since the board expected a mid-table finish I guess it was a good year. I should have looked at the club more before I took the job though, horrible finances with no money to improve the team at all. I also upgraded my Title Bout Championship Boxing to the latest version since it was only $10 if you had a license from an earlier edition. Hopefully now it will finally get the management/career mode stuff that people have been waiting years to get. I only did a quick test to see what it looks like, having Hagler face off with Leonard for 12 rounds. I also upgraded to Out of the Park 14, but didn't have time to play with it yet.

I really did not get a chance to game much... played a little Iron Front w/ Simhq group but had to leave early and OOTP 14.  I played over 72 holes of disc golf this weekend and some practice... arm is worn out.

Just lost my first PBEM game of Commander: The Great War to Shelldrake. I played as the Central Powers and he won by May, 1915 :(

Well you were just shy of the historical finish of the actual war by a few years not too shabby.  Chin up and give it another go General.

Commander: The Great War is pretty addictive in PBEM. I just wish the tech research wss quicker. I would select something to research like chemical warfare and forget about it, amd then as I was just about to lose the game I got word that research was complete.

The timing was pretty close to historical though as were a lot of other aspects of the camaign, even if I did not last long enough to watch new nations enter the war. Turkey did suprisingly well even as their infantry got the snot pounded outby  of them by British artillery and naval guns.

That was something that seemed to be a bit slow to me too.  While you shouldn't be able to research all the goodies, the large belligerents had many of those techs researched by the end of the war (historically).  Investing in more tech research is also expensive so boosting rates well enough can cripple your army & replacements.  I've not played the latest version(s), however, so maybe it's been adjusted.

^ I don't think it has. Maybe playing against the AI doesn't make it that big of a deal but against another human it is worse.

Hey Gus. How's the naval combat side or the game?

Not bad...players get naval research and upgrades amd there are a fair amount of relevant ship types available, plus transports and naval supply are modeled. Combat is modeled just like land combat. Naval units are very expensive too.
