I haven't tried it.  Empire really left me cold.  Although, in fairness, I never gave it much of a chance.  Same with NTW.  And I think I have about 5 minutes total in Shogun 2.

I love the Total War series, but what I REALLY think I love is M2TW.  I keep buying the rest because I'm such a fan of Medieval.

I really like the attention to detail.  From the background biographies and various event descriptions to the unit cards and uniforms.  Battlefield sound effects blow the vanilla game out of the water and the tactical ai is no pushover even on 'normal' difficulty.  The only weakness I see so far is the strategic ai.  I wonder though, if I bump the difficulty up to hard what would happen?

From what I read about this mod I believe Darth Mod worked on this mod as well and it shows.

Hi Gus,

I've played about 2.5 hours worth of this mod and aside from slightly longer load times for when you start up the campaign and when you enter manual battles the mod runs smoothly.  I'm using version 3.4 though, not the 3.5 beta which I've read has bugs in it. 

You can only play as either the USA or the CSA.  The map shows only the North American hemisphere with plenty of minors to trade with but you cannot play any of them.

This was one I was going to follow. I don't know how the newer versions got past me. W8taminute, does the mod interfere with Empire TW at all?

^It does.  The mod comes with what's called a Mod Installer.  Basically the Mod Installer will move the vanilla files required to run ETW for you and replace them with the files required to run ACW.  Upon exiting the Mod Installer after you've exited the main game you will be asked if you want to either keep the mod installed or reinstall the vanilla files to go back to vanilla ETW.

The process is not complicated and it does not take too long.  I think it takes less than 5 minutes for the file transfers  to complete.  I could provide more detailed instructions if you decide you want to try out the mod.  It's a simple procedure that I could write up for you.
