I had to go back and look, but I ordered my jets from these guys:

I went with the Scotia 1/300s. I don't have a lot of the "chrome" for CY6. No fancy markers or stands. I use simple plastic flying stands from GW and I use small d6 dice to track speed and altitude. The telescoping stands with the magnetic tips are cool, but expensive. I do have a pretty nice hex mat with a sky background.

I onw Elusive Victory, but have never played it. Time to break it out, I think. Just played MMP's Yom Kippur, so I'm in an Arab-Israeli conflict game mode.

   I guess Lee Brimmcombe-Wood should not get all the credit for EV, since Terry Simo developed the game based on LB-W's Downtown.  I haven't played Downtown so I don't know how different EV is from Downtown.

Whew!  They didn't screw around with Birds Of Prey did they?  It has even more rules than the proto-version I had previously checked out.  I'm impressed with the detail, although it'll take a lot of play-testing to figure out how all the flow charts translate to maneuvering. 

Now I just gotta go pick up some paper glue for the 'box minis' and grease pencils or china markers because the laminated flowcharts are gonna require a lot of scribbling every turn.  ???  Or perhaps I could get by with a turn log on regular 'ole paper since the mathematical results which are to be carried forward into another equation all have a reference number.   It looks daunting at first, but all those reference numbers and a few nomographs look like they make it easier to handle than it normally would be.

I just wish there were a few more variants of the aircraft that come with it.  There's something about registering at their site for a few more, which I'll do once I finger it out.  There's enough to cover quite a few conflicts, however, so it's probably just my yearning for more 'stuff'.  :D


On another note, I also ordered a Wings Of Glory WW2 starter kit earlier in the week because it looks easy enough to play with the youngsters in the family.  I'd kinda prefer the WW1 version but I think their 4-pack start kit is currently out of stock at most places so I'll pick that up later, if I enjoy the other one.

To add to my long list, I also grabbed The Kaiser's Pirates, Boots on the Ground, Labyrinth: War On Terror, and The Republic Of Rome to further backlog myself for the forseeable future.  :o
