Looked up the Gettysburg game on BBG.  It looks interesting.

I haven't had time to really dig into the rules but again I was completely suckered in by pretty pictures of the game and this marketing line on the back of the box, "Units in the game are represented by linear blocks rather than the traditional hex and counters, giving the game an appearance that evokes 19th-century battlemaps."

Bowen Simmons did Napoleon's Triumph which is a fantastic game. I didn't realize he had finished Guns of Gettysburg. It was a long time in development and I lost track of it.

I think you'll be very happy with your purchase. Simmons makes elegant, innovative games.

I've really just started to read the rules on Combat Commander.  It's been on my stack of games, but Panzer and ASLSK were the last two games I spent time setting up and playing.  I'd be up for some Vassal, if I can figure out when a good time to do so would be.

I just won an ebay aution for Hunt for Red October.  I've been wanting it for a while.  It looks like a fairly lite naval wargame, which is about all I can handle lately.

I recall enjoying it a bit when I was younger.  I was a devoted Harpoon disciple at the time so it definitely seemed pretty light and therefore didn't get much play time. 

I had seen a copy or two on Ebay awhile back and debated getting one.  Then I started thinking that if I were to get a 'light' naval game I would probably give Dan Verssen's Modern Naval Battles series a try instead.

Nice! That was one of the first board strategy games I ever played. If you can find Red Storm Rising, the two can be played together as well. I recall enjoying them, but it has been awhile.

Battle Packs #1 and #2 for Combat Commander.  I've been reading the rules and planning on clipping counters and setting up a game or two this weekend.

I've been looking through the scenario cards for the battle packs...some really good stuff in there. So far, I've only played the stock CC:E scenarios, though.

I need CC : Med...more for the damn box than anything else! I can't fit everything into the stupid CC:E box.
