Steam Summer Sales Begins - (June 19-30)

Minor damage this morning:

Metro: Last Light Complete.  I've been eyeballing Metro:LL for a while and at $6.79 it is a steal.  I loved 2033 and never even finished it!

Kingdoms of Amalur Complete.  Although the last thing I need right now is another dungeon crawler, it seems like a good game and a lot of content for only $10.

Passed on Betrayer and Outlast.  Although they both look good, and at only $5 apiece we're not talking about a lot of money, I'm loaded up on the horror genre right now, with Machine for Pigs, the above Metro, and a few games from the Xmas sale like F.E.A.R. still to play.

Okay, how the hell do you tell what color team you are own for the voting thing?

After watching this for the last few days, the winning color team thing sure looks "manipulated" to me.  There is always only 1 color team way, way...WAY out front (that team always seems to have at least twice the points as the rest) and the rest always seem to have just about the same amount of points.  That said, I've added several games to my wishlist (just in case my team (blue) wins and I'm one of the 30 out of tree zillion that wins games off my wishlist :D).

So far my damage is slight:  Ultimate General: Gettysburg and Plague Inc: Evolved (an impulse purchase...not worth the $10 I spent...but wouldn't be too bad for $3-$5)

you can watch a longer sequence of lets play videos instead.  i saw one of Outlast in German, allmost a play through ...and had no urge to get it anymore ...saved me some bucks at that time. 

strangely,  I found sometimes now watching a good 1080p Let'sPlay-series like a movie or sports with comments is more 'relaxing' then actual playing the very newly released game myself to that point.

it goes like this: i get interrested in a game (abroad from my grog wargame interests) ... i am on the fence ... it get released ... i look for information, reviews, ... i find a pleasing Lets Play .... i stick to that Lets play sequence .... i see 35+ videos ... i don't need the game anymore ...

It does seem odd. I read that people were trading points or something? I also added games to my wishlist. I'm on the green team and they won today but I didn't get anything.  :(

Drats..! My resolve broke and I got Kingdoms of Amular for $4.99.  In spite of some so-so reviews, I always wanted to give it a try.

I'm starting to worry that Wargame: Red Dragon isn't going to go down any further.  I'm holding out for a -50%.  If it hits $25 again I might have to jump, though.  I don't think I can risk it again...   ???

I am with you...that is the one I have been waiting for....my price point is $20 or lower since I never got full use out of the prior versions...but want to try this one.

I thought it got mediocre to bad reviews, so I never bought it.  On checking the reviews out though, they seem to be extremely positive. At $4.99? Sold.

We can have a contest or at least make each other cry...if you own FireFox or Chrome Browser......there is an add-on available called Enhanced Steam.  If you install the add-on and then use your browser to login to the Steam store, this add-on will give you nice features you can use.

One of the features is the ability to see how much money you have spent with Steam based on the games in your library....very depressing number for many I bet:)  I don't think it can include purchases you made of steam keys outside of steam itself since I don't know how it would know what price you paid, but nonetheless still kind of fun.  Beyond this feature, it has other nice things you might like.....

My damage is not really that bad, seems like roughly $640 spent on my library (certainly more from outside steam purchases)...although I will still keep that number from my wife:)  To see this total, install the add-on and go into your account detail screen where it lists all the games you registered.  On the right hand side, it will show your total expenses.  One sobering thing is that is just my steam purchases though, I have made far more purchases from other stores and physical purchases:(  Maybe I should not have looked at this:(

A really evil app would create some kind of ratio between money spent and time played for the entire library.

I hear what your saying...could be a shocking number for some:)  I think Steam purposely left that feature out to prevent people from realizing how much money they spent:)

Where does it show how much you spent? I installed the add on but find myself clueless as to where the spending info is.
