I may look you up tomorrow sometime for some MP.  I'm not on my desktop PC right now.

No problem. Even if you just need help. It can be easier using voice and showing you in a session  O0

Asid - are you around tonight? I was wondering if you fancied a go at that scenario you sent me...

One thing I was thinking thought in terms of fun....that it can quickly NOT be.

By that I mean - tanks are tanks and IFVs are IFVs...when you are targeted, you are VERY likely to be hit - and in the case of IFV's, you're out. There's nothing you can do. In a flight sim, for example, you can use ECM, chaff and flares to avoid being hit - but when you are fired on by another tank - you're likely history.

I suppose the games saving grace there is you can jump into another vehicle...but it's all a case of numbers and who gets the first shot off...and maybe how you place yourself.

It's brutal in other words.

Yeah.  My first mission was that Leo 2A4 platoon reconnaissance with the randomly generated enemies.  I eventually lost 3 of my 4 tanks before reaching the objective.

I expect to lose some, but hopefully not such a high percentage in the future.  Definitely need some practice.  :buck2:

Some things to remember:
•   The terrain is your friend. Use it.
•   Make like water. Stick to the low ground.
•   Smoke a life saver. Use it. However you will announce your position to everyone so move.
•   Do NOT sit in one spot, especially after you have fired. You may have been spotted.
•   Use your friendly vehicles to cover you.
•   Dismounting the APC troops at the right time can make all the difference.
•   Situational awareness is very important. Know where you, the enemy and friendly units are.

Hope this helps :)

Regards

In addition; Asid and I have been playtesting a (training) mission I've been working on. If you do come online, JudgeDredd, we've got a little surprise for you. It involves Warriors and Challenger 2's. ;)

However, if pilots would need to do daily what they are capable of doing, nobody would dare to fly anymore."

Cool - thanks. I'll be on at 8

Be aware, I've only completed the first 5 Challenger gunnery tutorials AND I'm not used to the TC turning my bloody turret - especially when I've lined something up. Is that because the TC has spotted a priority target?

I may drop in with you guys this afternoon too.

Q:

I thought the M1A2(SEP) TC had his own independent periscope.  Does he not?  I can't slew the view anywhere - it's locked to the gunner's view.  Maybe I missed the key commands in the tutorial?   :uglystupid2:

I won't be on until 20:30 I'm afraid - got to pick up the kid

Tank commander related commands:

T: Identified! Tells the TC that you have located a target and that you are going to engage it. Essentially it tells the AI TC to leave you alone while you engage and forbids the AI from overriding you to another target. Use at your own risk.

I: I can't see it! Tells the TC that you cannot see a target or the one he is commanding you to engage. Essentially it tells the AI TC to override you on to a target that it wants you to engage.

See you guys soon :)

What's a good keyboard PTT key to use for voice in SBPro?

It seems like all the keyboard keys are used in the sim by default.  Any ones that are free?

JudgeDredd

Just home. It doesn't look like I'll get on after all...or if I do it might be for 30 minutes as I've got a big bike ride tomorrow and I've got to get my sh*t together

I'll pop on in 10 and give it as long as I can...though I guess you lot may be in full swing, I can observer at least

Assuming you mean the F2 view:  Hold down the middle mouse button, or the P key, to override.
