Well that was bloody good fun. Eventually stayed on longer than I'd intended - but it was rather enjoyable. Thanks Yassy, Nefaro and Asid.

Well done, JD!
You and Nef were the stars of the night! :P

The mission is still heavily WIP. It saw the light of day for the first time just earlier today.  :uglystupid2: Hope you guys found fun what was there at this point.

I think we need more infantry on Blue. Some triggers didn't work (but you wouldn't notice, hehe) and the infantry in buildings needs to be looked at. But all that is probably me being a noob in the mission editor rather than SB not working (exept perhaps for the infantry 'bug').

I'll refine it. Hopefully you guys want to have a go at it again some day.

Thanks Asid for being our CO!

I thought the M1A2(SEP) TC had his own independent periscope.  Does he not?  I can't slew the view anywhere - it's locked to the gunner's view.  Maybe I missed the key commands in the tutorial?   :uglystupid2:

Assuming you mean the F2 view:  Hold down the middle mouse button, or the P key, to override.

Yeah, I can override but the gun is always slaved to the TC's camera or the camera to the gun.  Can the TC not pan his to scan independently of where the gun is (or will soon be)?

Not sure if I described that well enough.   :D

.....

Also - thanks to Asid, Yassy, and JD for the game.  Looking forward to more!

I'm still wondering if my occasional sim 'Jitter' may cause some multi-player issues.  Hopefully that didn't cause it.

What's a good keyboard PTT key to use for voice in SBPro?

It seems like all the keyboard keys are used in the sim by default.  Any ones that are free?

Like James Sterrett said "CapsLock" is ok. I use "Scroll Lock

It does

There are three modes on the commanders display unit:
1.   CITV SCAN: Manual or Auto seperates the CITV Sight from the Gun. Hunter killer feature. use the "p" key to move the sight, select the push button first
2.   CITV GLOS: CITV Gun line of Sight. Tells tanks Fire Control System that TC will be firing using the CITV screen. you must use the CITV sight to shoot targets in this mode. also the Fire Control System will switch from CITV SCAN to CITV GLOS only after designation which is the "o" key. you have to have the "p" key press first then the "o" key
3.   GPS GLOS: GPS Gun Line of sight. Tells tank Fire Control System that the TC will be firing using the Commanders extension sight. you must use your commander's extension sight to shoot targets in this mode.
Designation: you must be in CITV SCAN: Manual or auto. You will scan with the CITV sight by pressing the "p" key. You find a target, you then press the "o" key to designate. The tanks Fire Control System will then switch the mode to CITV GLOS. You must release the "p" and "o" key to give the gun back to the gunner to fire. Or you as the TC can fire from the CITV Sight. your choice.

Asid, I have always wanted to ask, are you at all part of the development/testing team for SB?  You seem to have so much good knowledge and enthusiasm for the game so I was just curious if you had behind the scenes knowledge of the game or was just a very passionate fan of the game?

It doesn't really matter either way, but was always curious since you seem to have a lot of knowledge and willingness to help everyone out, which is great.

Thanks for the clarification Asid!  I just need to put it into Manual Scan and override.  I had figured that out after spending some time pushing the buttons and using the 'P' override, but didn't know if I was missing something else.

The Leo can do the same thing but the scheme is different.  I prefer the Leo's scheme just because I spent more time in it.  There was no independent sight for the available M1 models in the old versions.
I guess Nefaro was expecting operation to be similar.

Leopard TC Hunter Killer Control Scheme:
1. TC periscope and thermal imaging are independent by default.
2. To slew the gun to TC's line of sight, press up arrow button
3. To align the TC's line of sight with the gun, press down arrow button
4. When commander takes command, you will notice that you are in override mode.  That means when you press fire, it is the commander that's firing.  If you want the gunner to fire.  Press "p" to get out of override mode.

I think #1 is what was confusing me.  I expected the TC periscope to be independent by default on the M1A2 also.  But you have to put it into Scan (Manual) mode and then Override to move it.

Assassin also gave me a detailed rundown of the modes.  Got the info I was looking for.  8)
