God damn it!  The Gamersgate version has ProtectDisc DRM crap with it.

I've had one other game with this malware garbage on it and it prevented the DVD player on my PC from playing movies that I bought and owned.

Not that I am overly complaining, but I buy this game at Gamersgate a few days ago as a pre-order for $29.  However, on release day already discounted by 10%.  I understand not getting any freebies as part of pre-order, but actually turned out to be a penalty at paying a higher price.  10% is nothing so not going to go crazy here, just surprised.  less of a reason to pre-order again.

Yeah, that kinda sucks.  Oh well.

I've only played the first mission as the Germans so far, but the game seems good.  If you've played Arma II, you know what to expect.

Man, based on what I saw on the range, that MG34 seems deadly!  Better than any of the modern MGs you find in Arma!

...i was out for dinner with the Expensive Other and a stroll with the dog ... now its only 27€ @Steam  (while boxed copy in stores here are 37€)  ...Downloading right now!  :)

...Good things come to the man who can wait   ;)

i had Steam anyway so i didn't want additional DRM stuff, so i waited for Steam (which was not even ready to purchase when i left) even so it was hard to resist this morn at gamersgate preload offer

Mine just finished downloading so hoping to get some game time tonight....if the game turns out good, I can forgive the 10% :)

Well, it's got the same quirks as ArmA II but still I'm loving it!

Here are some of the ArmA II type things I've noticed so far:

1)  The AI seems a bit goofy at times.  It'll get pinned on terrain or it'll take cover behind a window and proceed to crack rounds into the wall just below the windowsill rather than raising it's weapon above the wall.

2)  The in-game voice...acting...has...the.weird.....pauses...as..the.......game...loads....each..........sound...file....  "Unknown...man......2 o'clock...50!.......metres."  (except in German)

3) The sounds can be uneven.  The background noise of tanks and planes nearby is very loud (and awesome!) but the weapon sounds seem kind of weak and anemic in comparison.

I emailled them and asked if those of us who pre-ordered could get the 10% off as well, perhaps as blue coins or something.  Maybe they'll say yes, who knows?

My gut is that Gamersgate only added the 10% deal, post-release, after Steam released with a 10% discount.  Steam waited until literally the last moment to post a price.  There is some interesting commercial maneuvering going on in the digital download world.

I did the same..not expecting much, more of a principle thing:)

Probably some dumb questions....but just loaded the game.  Under missions, I only see three listed.  Is that all that is available?  I know there are campaigns, but thought there would be more single missions.  Also, on the main menu bootcamp and armory is not active to select, any way to access them?

Silent Disapproval Robot

Bootcamp comes up in the first German campaign mission.  Dunno about the armoury.

Thanks...does your game only have three single player missions listed?  Or maybe these become available as you complete the campaign?

Silent Disapproval Robot

Yup, same as you.  3 missions in the Scenarios tab (Viewport 2, Supply Depot, and Unexpected Visit) and Bootcamp and Armoury are greyed out.

Well, do we like it or not?

Well, just finished the tutorial..pretty standard stuff....however, upon loading the first mission, my game locked up:(  My games never lock up so hopefully not a sign of bad things to come.
